Further Iai Training

[Kuni Yotsuo]

Yotsuo followed up the earlier training with meditation, trying to center his mind. It didn't go well at all, but he didn't let that bother him. He simply took a bokken and began practicing the iajutsu forms he had been shown the day before.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

Sasaiko tries the same.

She does not succeed (Meditation 13).

So she bows to the Kuni and works through forms, as well.

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji, who still had a dent in his pride, went to practice Iaijutsu again after the training.

But today he had a flame in his eyes and a determined expression on his face. If he wanted to keep his oath with Saburo, he had to give his best.

He wasn't too surprised to see the falcon and the crab again.
"Greetings, Minna-sans. How did the day greet you," Kenji said with a bow before preparing for the upcoming exercise.

[Kuni Yotsuo]

Yotsuo bowed to the others, but spoke to the Kakita that had greeted. "My day is going well enough. Just getting some more practice in. And yourself?"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

Sasaiko nods, as well.

It has been much the same for her, after all.

[Kakita Kenji]

"That pleases me, are you ready to practice the way of the Iai again?" Kenji asked.

[Kuni Yotsuo]

"Yes. I really need to understand the forms better. I'm not really getting them right. It's... clumsy?"

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Most things are, at first," Sasaiko says, dusting herself off.

"Still, practice helps them be less so. Would you help me with it?"

[Kakita Kenji]

"If you want to master something, you have to repeat it a thousand times," Kenji repeated each sensei ever.

He smiled.

"But there is some truth in this saying. Repeat until the body does it by itself. And there are only a few ways to gain experience with it ... Shall we practice a few kata before we practice duels?" Kenji asked the two.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

"Sure."

The reply is easy, swift, and sure.

[Kuni Yotsuo]

"That sounds good," Yotsuo agrees with a nod.

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji just nodded and started practicing kata.
Today he put more power and precision into his swings. He repeats the same kata again and again. Soon he could feel the burning in his muscles but even as he felt it, Kenji went on, determined to get better.
