"Hm?" Kichiro asks in confusion. The poor man just trying to carry a conversation when everyone starts pouting edgy lion remarks and shining the dueling spotlight on him. "I mean... Yeah lets go?" A crack of Kichiro's neck and he readies himself in center stance. Within a blink of an eye Kichiro's whole demeanor changes. An empty husk, a chilling emptiness of what was the man before.

[Akodo Kichiro]

A stance mirrors but clearly Kenji's heart is more in it. His slightest hesitation is an easy read that Kenji would of took the advantage.

Kenji nodded. "You've got a strong stance too Akodo-san" he said and bowed. "Now does any of you had rice today?"

[Akodo Kichiro]

"Blessings of Inari have found me hai. You as well?" Kichiro repeats with a dour voice. A glance back to him shows that look from earlier hasn't vanished. That hollowed glare displaying an abstinence of humanity. A set of slow controlled movements bring Kichiro back into a balanced stance. Gesture an invitation to dismiss the ritual of iaijutsu to instead match each other's skill as if on the fields of war. Although still within their youth, untested, and just barely unworthy of their ancestral wakizashi. That stance, the swordsman of the akodo, was often the last countless Kakita have seen before once more spinning the wheel.

"Ahh, fine then" Kenji replied and took his stance. "We can continue training, Akodo-san"

Kenji took his stance and waited for Kichiro to do the same. When the lion twitched wrong once, Kenji slid forward and gave him a shallow blow on the stomach. "Too slow, Akodo-san, that could have cost you your life in the field."

Kaidan looked at the two skirmish. "Careful that you don't trip Akodo san." Kaidan said feeling playful.

Kichiro takes the strike and doesn't flinch from the blow. "Don't be so eager to hunt lions. We travel in packs... Each united as one moving unit. A swift blade might cut down one but what of the other eleven?" Kichiro steps forward with aggression in his swing. Beating down Kenji's guard until he lands what could be a mortal strike if this was live steel.

"The females are the hunters." Kaidan chuckled. His cat entered the room. "Ah... Ninya! Come to watch."

[Akodo Kichiro]

(With 47 damage Kichiro would be in "Out")

Kichiro takes a deep breath and lows his bokken. A premature lowering of his weapon admitting defeat. "A lion hunt in packs as we do not so recklessly pursue perfection like the crane. We rely on our clansman to make up the difference and stand stronger together." Kichiro rubs his sword hand to subdue some sort of tremor.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan shook his head. He moved to the circle and offered a helping hand. "Come on get up..."

[Kakita Kenji]

"And the crane must be able to rely on himself," Kenji said and lowered his bokken too. With a smile on his face, he said, "That was an interesting fight, Akdodo-san, thanks for that" he bowed before the lion to show him respect.

[Akodo Kichiro]

Kichiro returned the bow respectfully. "Hai. Interesting." The lion keeps his reply short. Only a confused head tilt towards Kaidan as he entered the ring. "Get up?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"You tripped... and you have fallen... and now the mighty Lion that hunts in pack has a wounded ego." Kaidan smiled under his mask. "But if you don't want the help of someone whose ancestry is part of a flock then maybe I should take it back."

[Akodo Kichiro]

A warmth returns to Kichiro's expression. "I hold no grudge towards any samurai of the empire. You least of all." he rolls his eyes at his own sentimental tone. "Tensions between our two clans may be on the raise but that is out of my control. I simply obey the orders of my lord and clan." He shrugs.

[Kakita Kenji]

"Aren't we all?" Kenji asked rhetorically

"We do..." He nodded. "Kenji sama shall we dance?"

Kenji nodded "We shall". He readies his Bokken again, going into a Centered Stance
