"Maybe not BAD quality, just not looking like they are meant to be displayed usually? Man, I wished I knew a better word for what I meant."

Kenji looked at Kazuko: "Do we even have low quality bokken here?" it was a serious question, Kenji only ever saw the high quality ones in the academy. Even the dented ones, like the one who is now on the rack, usually get's replaced in a few days.

"...Are you finished resting already? And is this safe, Haruki? Rocks hurt a lot. Just ask the goblins from Hirosaka about it."

Kazuko has genuine concern in her eyes as her worries about Kenji's mental state aren't completely assauged. Getting too worked up or injured again when the tournament isn't even halfway over would just be begging for the other competitors to spread malicious rumors too. Not that they wouldn't do it anyway probably. Nevertheless, she gets up to grab a some of the more worn bokken around and tosses them to Haruki and Kenji, as well grabbing one for herself.

"All the bokken are of the highest quality but they still get worn down fast with all of the training. No one will notice or care if we grab some of the older ones, they're probably going to be replaced soon anyway."

"What we threw at the goblins were large roof tiles, if you use smaller ones they don't hurt. The point is less about defending from an actual attack and more teaching how to keep your mind out of your way while wielding a weapon. Now if you think it would be better if we threw them at each other so as to have better control, I welcome that."

[Kakita Kenji]

Still sweaty, Kenji said: "I will be alright, but I welcome Haruki-san's suggestion. We can take turns defending and throwing"

He got ready to be the first and grabbed a piece of cloth and blindfolded himself with it. He had his bokken ready and waited for the stones to fly,...

Haruki takes out a bag of pebbles and a small bag of white powder. "Alright, so the goal of this is to throw the rocks in such a way that they go past Kenji and make contact with an obvious surface. If it does, it will leave a small mark with this powder. If he blocks it, the bokken will show how he blocked it. I will leave it up to you to throw the first stone."

Kazuko throws the stone with less force than she could as it's his first time trying something like this and she's unwilling to hit Kenji by accident.

He tried his best, but he couldn't see anything and the stone was already approaching when he hit him on the side. With a grunt he accepted the hit.

Noticing how hard this is for Kenji-San, Haruki silently motions to Kazuko-San then to his eyes as he closes them and tosses a pebble from a different angle but still at the same wall as the last.

Kenji could feel a stone connect with is bokken! He was unsure though if that was skill or just luck,....

He keeps the training going, moving around as he throws stones. Reminiscing about the kids he helped train over this past year.

Haruki opens his eyes in between his throws, looking at both Kazuko and Kenji-Sans, observing how they conduct themselves. Kenji-san did better than expected, even if Haruki was taking it easy. He waits for Kazuko-san's volley before speaking up.

(Going to assume she won't be rolling on this any time soon)

Once Kenji has had enough of blocking and removes his blindfold, Haruki bows and approaches him. Ready to answer any questions he might have.

Kenji took off the blindfold "Sooo, i blocked some of these stones, Haruki-san, but i don't know how this will help me?"

[Kaito Haruki]

"Well it's simple, forcing yourself to use a weaker approach than the one you usually use gives you a better appreciation for your skill alone. There is always a different way to use a skill when you are in times of peace. Sometimes my sensei would tie heavy stones to my wrist and have me copy dozens of scrolls at a time."

[Kakita Kenji]

"That seems to be,.... inconvinent? I may see the reason behind it though. But, as you said, these are unorthodox methods of training"

[Kaito Haruki]

"It really gives a clear view of how well balanced you are when you do the whole regiment. However, I must admit something. I closed my eyes every time I threw a stone, thus balancing my reflexes to your perception. This is what I suggest to you, while I understand that air and void are so important to your school, do not forget about earth, water, and fire in your pursuit of perfection."

"Well, to strive for perfection is a neverending story, but i thank you for the insight" Kenji replied
