"It is a skill most bushi are expected to have the basics of and the Academy is nothing if not thorough in ensuring samurai know what is expect of them. I believe in Kenji-san. He will pass to the tournament and, if need be, prove himself there."

A firm nod. "Hai! Well said!" He smiles warmly. "It's really good to be among friends again. Oh! I should ask! Is there anything I should see in Tsuma before the event is over?"

[Otomo Nobuko]

"Everything!" she laughed, "But the temple dedicated to Lady Sun is one of the finest in the Empire. And you should tour the Academy grounds while they remain open to competitors. They only open the gates once a year to the public in such a manner, so it is the only chance you will get for some time. The Merchant House of the Exotic is also a draw and one you might find fascinating. Oh! And Little Khanbulak! It's a taste of the western front guarded by the Unicorn right here, in miniature! I have only just begun exploring it myself, but it is rather fascinating some of the odd things you can find there."

"That's a lot! I know Little Khanbulak has a bookstore and a forge. Aiichiro-sama has gotten a few things. But yeah! That's a good idea, seeing the Academy grounds!"

[Otomo Nobuko]

"I have not spend time in their bookstore, but I should go back to look. I've mostly spend my time exploring the clothing and jewelry they have. Some of it is of foreign design, but not displeasing to the eye despite that. I'm especially interested in finding some new gloves among the many items there that I will be comfortable wearing."

She did rather like her gloves.

He smiles, putting that type of information away where his heritage said it'd be useful.

"Okay, so. What's the etiquette when visiting the Academy? I'm guessing, don't disturb classes in session? Are there galleries guests get to see?"

[Otomo Nobuko]

"Be polite, of course. But when the doors are open, it is expected that you might catch a glimpse of any classes that are being conducted... which is why no classes of importance are conducted during the tournament. The focus of the Academy during this time is being good hosts. Any practice the students do on their own is their responsibility to do... well... responsibly.

"Ah, but once inside, if you come to the Basin of the Perfect Stroke, do not touch it or put your hands into the waters that might be there. It would be rude."

A quick nod. "Good to know. No touching Basin of the Perfect Stroke."

[Otomo Nobuko]

"You will be the perfect guest, I am sure," she said as she noticed some peasants starting to walk their way apprehensively. "Ah... Gin-kun, I think we should begin walking so the finish line is clear for the next competitors. Let us join the others in watching the races."

He nods, "Yeah! Good idea." He smiles some, "Hopefully they all do their best!"
