How to Get What You Want

[Zashi]

Zashi had previously asked for training from Tomoe-senei, and is now patiently waiting for her, hoping to get a moment.

[Vutall]

The scorpion woman watches Zashi for a few minutes before approaching.

"Here to make good on my offer, Kitsune-san?"

[Zashi]

"Hai sensei." Zashi bows. "It would be quite a waste to pass up such an opportunity"

[Vutall]

"Have you thought of how you wish to tempt me?"

[Zashi]

'I was thinking...why would you even bother offering to teach me at all." Zashi puts a finger to chin. "If I had to guess you want something. You would want me to do something, or tell you something..."

[Vutall]

"Ah. So temptation from an offer. Very good. Let's hear it."

(Temptation / Awareness, no honor loss since this is training)

[Zashi]

"Now, I would guess two things. One would be information about the Fox Clan. It's...well, likely difficult to get penetration agents into the deepest parts of Kitsune Mori, though not impossible, in spite of the physical proximity. Of course, that relies on me to be willing to offer information on my people, knowing the potential cost...and you have to wonder how reliable it is."

"Second...you would have someone trained. A discreet set of hands with the barest of ties back to you. A favor owed for years, to be called upon when unexpected." Zashi offers a quirk of the lips. "Just a thought"

"You have a good intuition, but you have mad a drastic flaw. You have given me two choices for only one in return. A good temptation is deliberate and precise. Once choice is given, you lose much of your ability to negotiate, your target thinking they are in control."

[Zashi]

"Don't you want them to be? Placing the idea and letting them come to that conclusion? A false choice maybe, to set them up for what is to come." Zashi offers their best Sadane face. "Like letting you decide where you would place me by feeding ideas where I would not. Crab lands? Ha! Lion, perhaps.."

[Vutall]

"In some situations, but in temptation, you need to come off as the one totally control in the negotiation. You have one offer, and if they turn it down, they miss out. "

[Zashi]

"Do you add a time limit? To force the decision.?"

[Vutall]

"Generally, it is a right here, right now type of deal, but sometimes an offer can be made and require the other time to think on it. Though know many times that the more someone thinks, the less likely they are to do as you wish."

[Zashi]

"Hmmm so keep it short and sweet: "Don't you want someone trained with whom you can keep your hands clean?"

[Vutall]

"Dear child, the Underhand does not mind getting dirty."

[Zashi]

"I have no doubt of that. But it is far easier to proclaim shock and lack of knowledge when they are. So, not Lion then...where else does Kitsune Mori border?"

[Vutall]

She looks oddly at the boy.

"You are asking me where your own homeland is? "

[Zashi]

Zashi sighs. "I was hoping to be subtle. The forest is a midpoint between the Scorpion and Crane. I was trying to lead to it. I guess I really need work on this one"

[Vutall]

"Just practice more, child. You have the basics of it."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan entered the room. He wondered if there is a way to ask something to the sensei beside practice some techniques. "Konichiwa Sensei... Zashi san." He bow to both.

"Ah, hello Bayushi-san."
