Event: Blood Money

[Vutall]

The note reads in very poor writing:

"All those new kids in town decided to pay one of the establishments a visit and stole from it. Rough them up a bit to show them just because they are here on invitation by an Imperial lapdog that we're the ones who run this town."

[Iuchi Prashant]

Prash turns around, his blood still pumping, and looks at one, then another of the hitmen who had tried to run, and just then notices Dao and Kokyou... and the men lying down below them, both very limp. He takes a deep breath, as if trying to center himself, then turns to look at Nesrin and the Ichiros.

"I'm fine, Utaku-san. I hope you're alright? Moto-san, Utaku Ichiro-san... everyone alright?", he says, slowly trying to recover his usual calm self.

"And... Kokyou-san, Togashi-san, thanks for your help. Did they wound you?"

[Utaku Ichiro]

"Looks like some local toughs think they're in charge around here. Claim some students stole something from them so went out looking for revenge to show the sensei who really runs this town." He looks at the dead and the unconscious, "Their arrogance about their station definitely does not seem to fit their abilities. We should report this so the scum can be dealt with properly for daring to think they are superior, let alone equal, to samurai."

[Kokyou]

"Nay. They could nah touch me. Don't worry about me, though. I am sort o' invincible. How are ye doing. Utaku-kohai. We shall get tha' looked at by the sensei." He mentions, smug in his face. Even if he meant it genuinely when looking to Nesrin.

Back at Ichiro, he says. "We shall plunder all thar grog 'n throw it into the water. Those pig faced butt scratchin' scurvy baboons!"

[Iuchi Prashant]

Prash seems thoughtful as Ichiro speaks. "They kept insisting that something got stolen... That makes no sense!"

[Utaku Nesrin]

Nesrin listens to Ichiro's version of how they all got here, it was true enough, though she expected some more questions for everyone when they reported it all.

"I'm fine," she answers Kokyou and Prashant. "Little pig-sticker here barely scratched me."

She nods at Ichiro. "They really weren't prepared at all for facing even half-trained samurai. How they think they can run this place, I don't know, but I expect they'll get a lesson after something this bold. And claiming someone here stole something? They're just adding insult on top of injury."

[Togashi Dao]

"And... Kokyou-san, Togashi-san, thanks for your help. Did they wound you?"

"They had not the chance, you and your kin were harrying them too furiously. But I wonder who was stealing? We're not allowed out of the compound, right?"

[Utaku Ichiro]

"Well whatever it was was apparently worth four lives and at least 30 bu. Can't say I've seen anyone here walking around with something new that shiny."

[Kokyou]

Kokyous eyes nearly wet themselves as he sees the items.

"The booty! Let's split the loot, me hearties."

The very first booty of his life.

[Iuchi Prashant]

"Good to know, Togashi-san, Utaku-san", he nods a both when they answer they're ok.

He then nods again, turning his eyes to Nesrin, then looks at the other Unicorn and repeats something he had said during the fight already. "It's absurd, really. Nothing got stolen."

[Utaku Nesrin]

Nesrin shakes her head. "Not by us for sure. Not sure they even cared who they came across first though."

She holds up the knife. "I've got my loot." Her nose wrinkles at the mess of bodies scattered across their sleeping area. "Can't imagine they've got anything else worth my attention." Then she stands straighter, remembering something, and she turns to go look at her stuff, finding the little cricket cage at the edge of the 'room' intact and undamaged in the chaos. With a sigh of relief, she turns back to the mess that needs cleaning up.

[Moto Ichiro]

ichiro patted down the thug he had knocked out and divested him of his knife and flipped a coin at Nestin with a knowing nod, he remembered she was the one that had paid for the sake earlier. The rest he had he left in the middle "well we probably have to tell the sensei about this." He said grimly.

[Vutall]

Two of the heimen are breathing shallowly, the other two are quite still, both in breath and movement.

[Kokyou]

Kokyou flips one of the knives and takes three bu, saying. "Three t' each 'n one remains!"

[Togashi Dao]

Dao shakes his head at the coin, but does claim the unusually round piece of flint.

"My Lord provides." Is the only explanation he gives as he looks to Kokyou. "Do with mine as you will."

[Utaku Nesrin]

Nesin catches the coin, pauses a moment and then nods, tucking it into the cricket's cage for now.

"Yeah. Needs to be reported." She sets the little cage back in its spot, the knife set on the floor beneath it. "Particularly since it looks like a couple of these are still breathing."

"I'll go." She pokes gingerly at her wound, figuring it won't impede running much at all, and then picks her way around the fallen to find a path toward authority.

[Vutall]

The knife wound is shallow, more of a long cut than a deep one across her stomach.

[Kokyou]

"I'll escort ye!" He says, scooting at Nasrin's side. He nods to Dao, not minding he's giving up coin like that.

[Utaku Ichiro]

While the money would double what he had Ichiro shook his head, "I see no reason to loot the dead or dying and none stands out as a lucky trophy to me."

[Iuchi Prashant]

Prash nods at the Utaku again, somewhat relieved that her wound doesn't seem so bad after all.

He then looks at Kokyou, shakes his head in a negative gesture with a wistful smile looking at the coins and other belongings, then speaks again.

"I... i will try to cleanse at least some of the impurity this incident has created". His eyes turn troubled, maybe even somewhat sad as he looks to the two dead heimin.
