[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He took his time, thinking on a riddle that was hard to answer. "I am slim of body, and weak. Even so if I'm made from two things that come from the same thing, a thing that was once stronger than a tiger. I am as delicate as the flowers, yet they commonly addorn me. Poets write about my signals, and courtiers study my language."

"A very good riddle, Kaiu-san. The answer is of course, a fan."

The large bird creater looks to the other three students.

"Voiceless it cries, Wingless flutters, Toothless bites, Mouthless mutters"

((so far, the players have 2 points, the kenku 0. Aiichiro cannot ask or answer any more riddles.

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko spoke up, barely audible over the rain. "Wind."

She paused. "...What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?"

He looks at the remaining two students.

"Give me food, and I will live. Give me water, and I will die"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu takes a step forward thinking it's probably his turn and worried that if he waits until last no one will be able to fix his mistake.

"Is it uhm... Fire? Cause you'll drown it if you give it water?"

"You are correct, and your riddle, Yasuki-san?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He claps and bows. "Thank you! Yes! Uhm!"

He looks around a second and then blinks away the rain. "Let me know if its too tough, I came up with it myself!"

He stands straight and recites his riddle with as much seriousness as his frame can handle: "What is as old as the mountains, dances on water, but will never float?"

"Hmm. A rock perhaps? One that you can throw and it skips across the water."

Finally he looks to Kaiden.

"What has roots as nobody sees, Is taller than trees. Up, up it goes, And yet never grows?"

Kaidan gave it some thought. "Hmmmm... That is an interesting thing..." He smiled. "Ah... mountain"

"Indeed, though more in line with the theme, earth. And your riddle for me?"

Kaidan gave it some thought. "Four is four sometimes nine never five always six"

A small chuckle from the bird man.

"Clever, Bayushi-san. A description of how many letters are in each though is not quite a riddle, but I will let it pass."

The bird bows again and opens the chest.

"You have won the game, and thus my gift to you all."

He takes a few steps back from the chest.

"If you can find what ties all of my riddles together, you will understand what this gift does."

[Yogo Otoko]

"The elements. The kami." She was certain everyone knew, but as the only shugenja present, it was plain as night and day.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Wouldn't it be void if we are trying the elements together?" Kaidan whispered. They are talking to a Kenku who have given them riddles perhaps this was the last one.

[Vutall]

The Kenku's eyes dart between the two scorpion.

"One of you has the right idea. The other, too obvious"

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko was an earth shugenja. She quite appreciated the obvious. She nodded toward Kaiden. "Bayushi-san has the idea of it."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Asako-sensei is an ishiken. Perhaps it is about her? Or is it something about shugenja? If it's void..." He stopped to think a little, trying to remember something but failing.

"You have no reason to ponder, you already have the answer. Each of my riddles that you answered, as well as the Void to connect them all, will tell you all you need to know."

Event Reward:

Nemurani - Cloak of the Tengu
A black cloak of feathers with the five elemental symbols on the back of it.

When you put on this cloak, you may spend a void point and make a Meditation/Void roll, TN20. On success, you may raise one trait by 1 and reduce the opposing elements trait by 1. Air opposes Earth, Earth opposes Water, Water opposes Fire, Fire opposes Air. This bonus lasts until you remove the cloak.

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu opens the chest and looks over the cloak of feathers.

"But!"

He looks to the group and then the Tengu.

"My parents named me Silver Raven, how is this happening? I'm never this lucky!" He holds up the cloak. "How is this happening? It's like a story out of history!"

"As I said, young Yasuki-san, We have been watching. Your generation gives us hope. You will face great perils, and you must not fail."
