Mochi for Coin, Barracks

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He nods, "Ah! I understand! That way people think of doing it themselves instead of being told!"

[Otomo Nobuko]

She grinned brightly, forgetting herself for a moment as she gave a soft clap, "yes, just so! I'm sure if we each speak to several of our fellows about it, perhaps this evening as well as in the morning during our meal or our chores, the word will spread quickly and you will get more students offering something of value to trade for the great joy the mochi will bring them!"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He nods energetically at that. "That could work!"

[Otomo Nobuko]

"Then that is what we shall do!" She reaffirmed, pulling herself together and schooling her expression once more. She took a step back and offered a bow, "I shall see you tomorrow at this hour, Yasuki-san."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu bows in return. "Absolutely! Thank you Otomo-sama."

He does wait to see what the servant leaves.

[Otomo Nobuko]

After Nobuko leaves - without giving any instructions to the servant beyond what she had prior to their arrival - the servant looks wild-eyed between Ginkarasu and the door, the small bag of coin clutched in her hand getting wrung tightly as she tried to figure out what to pay for the mochi. Eventually she gritted her teeth, squeezed her eyes shut, and reached into the bag.

She didn't look at the amount in her hand before dropping it on the table and bolting.

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu waves good bye and puts away the coin happily. True, it wasn't as nice a coin as the bu that the Miya had left, but no one wanted to make an Otomo mad. That was one of the truths of the world.

And it jingled a bit next to the other coins all the same.
