[Kakita Kazuko]

"Sure! Maybe I won't make the same mistakes again!" He sorts the pieces back into their respective bowls.

Kazuko smiles enthusiastically and continues giving helpful advice and commentary but plays noticeably worse this time, setting up opportunities for you to take over large portions of the board at once if you spot them out. She tries to not walk you through too much and let you think for yourself but she might have made it a little too easy this time.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He tried it again, almost to the same effect.
"Are there, like, different etiquette protocols for each Clan?"

[Kakita Kenji]

"Yes, by all means. Unfortunately, I don't know everything about it either. Even within the Crane Clan there are different etiquette and customs. Doji tend to make everything extremely subitl, the diplomats at least, Asahina are calm and controlled, Daidoji are more on the practical side and like to keep it short, and Kakita, well we like to do everything with passion: "Live each day to the fullest."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"I see. It is a really nice philosophy, Kenji-kun. There is a saying at the Wall that says... Ah, forget it, it is too morbid. Anyway, it would be nice if we found a book that lists the nuances of said letter customs, taking in account that we are already at a library." He closes the ink pot and gets up from his futon. "Would like to help me search for it?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu pieces a better plan together this time, though Kazuko could have won at anytime.

Still he's trying the whole game, certain that Kazuko would find a way to undue all of his work.

[Kakita Kenji]

"Of course" Kenji got up and went to the shelves. "We're looking for a document on crab etiquette, right?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

Going to the shelves and looking at Kenji, unease on his eyes, he shook his head and started to search by himself, forgetting to explain him what to search for.

[Kakita Kenji]

Confused, Kenji turned his head to the side. "Aiichiro-san, what are we looking for?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He took a deep breath and gave up trying to metaphorically hide his face on the shelves, looking at Kenji.
"Phoenix."

[Kakita Kenji]

In a way, many things suddenly made sense. "All right."

Kenji was rummaging around the shelves looking for a scroll, eventually finding one.
He also took out a scroll with Shineis sayings.

"I have something," he said and went back to the table.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Alright." He said, continuing to search until he found a book on Letter Games at Kyuden Asako. That ought to be good enough, although not perfect. Aiichiro went back to the table, putting the book on it. "What did you find?"

[Kakita Kenji]

"Customs of the Phoenix, From 1114, written by Doji Uichi and a Scroll with a few selected Sayings of Shinsei. The phoenix, are after all, very spiritual" said Kenji laying the Books in front of him. "Then let's make this letter special!"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He smiled slightly as he consulted the book to read the index. "This one will serve a lot better than the one I found. Thank you, Kenji-kun." And then he went to dwelve in the pertinent parts.

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji had a big smile on his lips. "Seems like we should include this and that" He pointed to certain lines in the index "Also, maybe we could include one of those two quotations from Shinsei?" He pointed to matching quotations in the scroll.

(OOC: Been more or less on mobile, having no real things at hand, like actual qoutes or rules for phoenix etiquette)

Aiichiro put what Kenji indicated on his sketch, which on the end looked more like a diagram than a text — but if you didn't forget an arrow or a sublined text, the letter should go as intended. "I think this first quotation is way too much on the nose..."

(OOC: I don't know anything of Phoenix Etiquette either)

After some back and forth, a correction here and there, Kenji was satisfied with the final product.

"Now you just have to transfer it in ink, Aiichiro-san," Kenji said. "But I am confident you will do a good job"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He transferred the letter to ink on another paper. One time he did a mistake, but merely continued instead of starting anew. Then he did a worse one, and covered the kanjis in a small pudge of ink, writing the corrected version at its side.

[Kakita Kenji]

"No, no, no, no, no, start over, pick up a new sheet. One mistake is fine, but we don't want to mess up the big picture." Kenji said certain. "Take a breath and write the kanji, slowly but surely. Take your time, it's not about how quickly you can finish it now, the letter will travel its time anyway and reach its destination faster than you do."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"This one is perfectly fine." He answered. "This isn't even an engineering sketch, those are just letters, why do they even need to be flawless." He got clearly annoyed, and now he stopped to write to talk and let the brush over the letter there was another spot of ink.
He sighed and took another sheet. Not very good at Rei.

"You would't want your sketch to be flawed, so you should strive for this letter to be as good as your capable of" Kenji said supportive. He was sure that Aiichiro could do it!
