The Kaito way

[Kaito Kai]

Kai groaned inwardly. Being ersatz kyujutsu sensei was not how they planned on this going down.

"Oh. Of course, that's what my cousin here was also anxious about. I offered a refresher on some basics, is all. After all, you know..."

Kai trailed off, murmuring something under their breath about arrows and knowing the way.

[Togashi Dao]

"Oh no. I am not skilled enough to benefit from your tuition Isawa-sama. I would just like to watch, if that is acceptable."

[Kaito Kai]

Kai blinked, their expression becoming thoughtful at the Dragon's words.

Was it acceptable? A question like that bore a moment's consideration. They heard the plunk of Haruki's bowstring and the thunk moments later of the arrows into the straw target. It seemed so distant, slower, far away. But only for one moment.

"Ah. Do as you will, Togashi-san." Kai gave a something of a nervous smile, fully aware of having just zoned out.

[Togashi Dao]

The semi rhythmic sound of the bowstring, the thud of the arrows finding the targets it was an unfamiliar sensation to Dao's ears as he watched Kai's face.

"It looks like your instruction is quite effective Kaito-sama." Dao observes as more shots hit the target.

[Kaito Kai]

"I did nothing. He already knew what he needed to do."

There wasn't humility in Kai's voice, they were simply stating a truth. On in Kai's case, parroting it. It sounded like the sort of saying a much older, more enlightened sort would say rather than the young Kaito "instructor" here would come up with on their own.

Folding their hands in their sleeves, Kai glanced back at Haruki. Their lip twitched a moment, the beginnings of a frown, perhaps.

"Well, we should be done here in not much longer, Togashi-san. No late night show tonight, I'm afraid. Better get a good night's sleep for more training tomorrow, right?"

[Togashi Dao]

"Yep, yep Kaito-sama, gonna be some very busy days coming up. A good sleep is very important. Good night."

He looks past Kai towards Haruki and yells out.

"Good night to you too Kaito-sama."

[Kaito Haruki]

"Good night to you as well." Haruki moves to put all the equipment away.

[Kaito Kai]

(I'm ready to call it /thread, folks. Agree?)

[Togashi Dao]

With a final bow, Dao heads off to his futon.

As soon as he puts the last bit away. He heads to bed.
