Event: Eyes in the Dark

[Bayushi Jiro]

Bayushi Jiro remained utterly still, his eyes open through the night. Years with a very mischievous twin brother (not that he had ever been up to no good, no sir) had taught him to sleep lightly. Unfortunately, the mysterious observer did not deploy the dreaded hand-in-warm-water trick, or Jiro would have been the first to nab him. As it was, however, Jiro remained asleep.

Otoko slept like a baby.

[Mai]

Mai suddenly screams in pain and horror as the pain wracks her body. She falls out of bed still cocooned in her blanket.

[Vutall]

At Mai's scream, the eyes disappear and a hushed whisper falls out over the dojo.

"....Not....Her...."

No more Investigation rolls may be made. Any student may willingly wake up at the scream, giving priority to those students in the Minor Clan section of the Dojo. If you do get up and try to help Mai, you will be interrupted in your sleep and be Fatigued on Day 2, but the penalty is -1 instead of the usual. You will not recover any spent void, either.

[Kokyou]

Mai suddenly screams in pain and horror as the pain wracks her body. She falls out of bed still cocooned in her blanket.

Kokyou was snoring heavily, but Mai's scream was indeed loud, specially since he was right next to her. He wakes up and tries to wake Mai to get her back in her futon, gently. He whispers, "Shush, shush, Mai-chan. We 'ave t' sleep well fer tomorrow. Wha' happened. Did ye 'ave a nightmare?"

Mai is unresponsive to Kokyou's attempts, her body limp and hot.

[Utaku Ichiro]

Though he had avoided excess the soporific effects of sake did help one ignore another kid's night terrors. Surely that is all it could be. At best it slightly colors his dreams.

Zzz...out of the way Himeko! I'll save them!... zzz....

(Ichiro continues to sleep)

[Kokyou]

Mai is unresponsive to Kokyou's attempts, her body limp and hot.

"Shite! Jelly boned pig faced butt scratchin' thumb suckin' crud bucket!"
Kokyou curses through his lips, and shaking his head, takes the girl in his arms to find a monitor outside, or a sensei.

[Kokyou]

"Ye're quite skinny, Mai-chan, I pray th' Fortunes ye grow up wit' more meat on yer bones. Specially in th' curvacious edges."

Kokyou murmurs to himself while looking at Mai –– and lifting her to exercise a bit.

Kokyou is able to lift and carry Mai out of the Barracks and into the hallway without any trouble. There is no one immediately around however. Likely all of the Sensei are in another barracks.

[Kaito Kai]

Kai is awake, having rested uneasily after sighting the...the...whatever it was.

With the scream, however, Kai cursed under their breath. Should have been more proactive, they thought. But regret was a sin.

Tossing their blanket away, they made their way over to where Mai and Kokyou were.

Skipping the question of what happened, Kai went ahead to action. "Do you need he-? Oh. Come on. She needs help."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

A scream took him from his heavy sleep. He woke up and looked around scared, only to find two people alongside him. He did not know there were three Crabs, but this one also seemed to be sleeping. But he grew up being teached a lot of security protocols for living in the wall, and screams meant evil, evil things.
He knew he had to run. Better yet, find somewhere to hide.
He tries to wake up the people nearby him, sliding the shoji after his tries failed... Like they were sleeping for magic of some sort.
He sees nothing unusual, but he heard steps, and try to follow the source of the noise stealthy.

[Kokyou]

"Shiver me timbers! Kitsuki Obvious-chan be here, finally. Please, go find us a sensei, pretty lass. She be wit' th' fevers!" Kokyou narrows his eyes at Kai, shrugging with Mai at his arms.

[Kaito Kai]

Kai frowned, then remembered they'd gotten out of bed without bothering with their usual routine of padding and binding. Besides, there were more important considerations right now.

"It isn't a fever." The Kaito remarked coolly before going to go find help for Mai.

[Vutall]

It doesn't take Kai long to find the sensei barracks. The door is unlocked, but inside it is dark and everyone is sleeping soundly.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He reached everyone else when they were on their way to the sensei barracks, listening a little to what happened but not enough. "What happened?" He asked whispering after running after them.

[Kokyou]

“Utaku-sensei. I be sure she be th’ best to—“ Kokyou looks to Aiichiro and shrugs again. “I be sayin’ Mai-chan has th’ fevers, bu’ tha’ other lass be sayin’ nay.”

[Kaito Kai]

Not wishing to repeat themselves, Kai brought Aiichiro along as they went to wake up Asako Himeya - after all, this was likely a spiritual matter and a fellow Phoenix might not be so bent out of shape for being woken up at this godforsaken hour by kids.

"Asako-sensei, something has happened to one of the students and they aren't waking up."

[Vutall]

It takes the woman a moment to come to her senses, having been dead asleep.

"Isawa no Kaito-san, do you know what hour it is?"

She blinks and rises from her futon before the words fully hit her.

"Oh...Oh no. Please, take me to them right away"
