(Day 6, LE) Celebration Feast (Minor Clan and Ronin Event)

This event is limited to those who are sitting next to Hitoshi, so Minor Clan and Ronin players

As more and more of the gifts are being given, Hitoshi has an anxious look on his face. When the Lion are called, he begins to fidget, knowing that the Minor clans will be next.

"What did you all get Kakita-sama? I hope he likes my gift. The Mantis sent me here with it as a token of good will between our two clans. It's incredibly important that he likes it!"

[Zashi]

Zashi offers a bit of a smile.

"Well, I didn't exactly bring anything with me. I haven't been back to Kitsune Mori is, oh wow, is it a year now?" Zashi looks thoughtful. "I was going to do a performance. Others have brought things they made or compositions"

"You know, if you want to sweeten the pot, I have some Tsu fish eggs. And maybe a little nudge from the kami, eh?" The redhead pokes Hitoshi in the ribs with his elbow.

[Kokyou]

"Aye, indeed. Th' Crane are good mates wit' th' Mantis. Can ye tell us wha' be this gift?" He persuades Hitoshi to share, skeptical that he could have been tricked at that level, after receiving the letter from Nobuko.

[Toritaka Sasaiko]

Sasaiko simply sits and observes.

So this is the Hitoshi of which so much has been made, she thinks.

"You should use the eggs, Kitsune-san. I feel like my gift wouldn't compliment them well. See, The Mantis sent me here to deliver a ship to Kakita-sama. The Crane navy is going to really love having one of our ships designs as part of their fleet! I just hope its well taken..."

[Zashi]

Zashi lets out a whistle.

"Alright, that's far better than what I had." Zashi gives a sincere smile. "That's an extremely generous gift Hitoshi-san. I'll tell you something, they would be fools to not be impressed. It would be a slight on them to do anything but graciously accept, especially after the way that they treated you. You managed to pass, even with some rather questionable calls by the judges. There's nothing quite like acting graciously when someone snobbish is being rude...man, that would be embarrassing for them." Zashi titters a little.

[Kokyou]

"A ship? Twistin' mustache o' th' Orochi, that be one o' th' finest gifts a Mantis could give. If nah th' daughter o' th' Champion hisself in marriage." Kokyou nods several times, and nearly pats Hitoshi at his shoulder, but remembers they're not in the sea. So, none of that.

"Th' Mantis will definitely impress, then. Th' gift I prepared, though, be potentially as great, but it doesn't travel." He grins, and his eyes go up to the big set of mountains right at their left. The full moon shining over a huge stone statue that wasn't there a day ago.

"Wow, you carved that, Kokyou-san? Awesome!"

Hitoshi looks quite happy and excited for once, his spirits elevated

[Kokyou]

"Yar. Th' kami guide me hand, 'n th' Fortunes bless me path. But, as Mantis, ye can be sure I be th' one takin' a hold o' thin's. Hahahahaaaarrr." He starts to laugh perhaps a bit louder than the others, but calms down just at the point it would bother.

He nods to his potentially future crew mate. "We can nah let go th' opportunities th' Fortunes give us wit' inaction, or ill thoughts. Let us do great today, 'n tomorrow. Brin' glory 'n honor t' th' Mantis. We might even share th' same ship."

As the feast goes on and the conversation with the other Minor Clan contestants continues, Hitoshi seems to be truly in a good mood, finally able to enjoy the Championship feeling like an equal and a friend.

However, that all changes when the Lion finish presenting their gifts and Toshimoko does not call up anyone else by clan to present their gifts.

“What is the meaning of this? How can he not see we have more here who would honor him with a gift? “

Hitoshi seems quite upset, the quick temper of his flairing.

Hitoshi’s Brash is triggered! To attempt to calm him down before he says something stupid, players in this thread must attempt a Courtier/Awareness roll (to talk him down) Etiquette/Intelligence roll )to explain that Toshimoko is just following usual court procedure) or Intimidation/Willpower (to threaten him into backing down, losing honor for using a low skill))

The TN for these rolls is going to be 20+2x13 (the amount he fails his TN 25 Brash check by) so TN 46

"Wait, Hitoshi-san!" Koyou looks to the other Minor Clan members... and ronin... around, "It wasn't somethin' jus' aimed at us th' Mantis, or th' Minor Clans. I believe 'tis due compassion, nah despise."

Kokyou looks to Sasaiko, especifically, so that she may get inspired with his own greatness.

"Look Hitoshi, if you go off now, they have excuse to dock points, perhaps even disqualify you. Let's play it smart."

"Hitoshi-san," cuts in Sasaiko, "if you act thus, in front of everyone, not only will it be as our fellows have said for you. It will imperil your ships and your families, as well--because it will be seen as a insult, and insults can be met with vengeance.

"Please, for all of us, do not do this thing. Be the better person here, the glorious one you can be."

Her words are remarkably convincing (Courtier 64; thanks, y'all).

Hitoshi clenches his fist and nods at Sasaiko, gritting his teeth a bit.

"Someone should say something though, we all have gifts to present.."

[Kokyou]

Kokyou lifts himself up, and bows to the group, “Thank ye, Sasaiko-chan. Yer a wonder. If ye all allow, Ill be addressin’ Kakita-sama.”

"Another time. After we have done what we came here to do. But only then."

[Zashi]

"Ooooh believe me, if they keep playing games, rumor is going to spread" Zashi gets a glint in his eye

[Kokyou]

"Ye sure?" Kokyou tilts his head, "I be thinkin' in gettin' some extra help from an Imperial to get the word closer t' Kakita-sama's ear afore any offense can be taken."
