(Day 4, EE) Outside Bayushi Kaidan's room

((1 bu, and with there being 7 frogs, thats 14 legs, these arn't huge, so it would be like, a snack. like, a chicken wing.))

With a happy grin, Asahi looked over the frogs until he finally spotted his.

"There you are." he picked it up carefully.

(Alright so going to guess not too many of you guys want some. So going to guess 2 difficulty for size, and +1 for adding stuff from Kyuden Isawa. -2 for spices on hand, so TN 15 base and I can make them in this thread?)

(Nesrin would...but honestly didn't want you trying to split what's basically a plate of wings with a table full of people. XD)

[Otomo Nobuko]

Nabuko looks just a little horrified at the idea of cooking the frogs they had accidentally killed. While Haruki managed to get enough for his dish, she managed to keep several - including the one she had been the death of - away from the hungry others and in the basket for transport.

"I am not hungry," she said and handed the tessen and knife back to Aiichiro before very carefully picking up the basket of unlucky frogs. "I am going to take these and ensure they are seen to."

The hinin she would call would probably have dealt with eccentric requests before, but preparing improperly slaughtered frogs for a funeral might be a new one on them.

"They likely do not need to be mourned a full month, but we can give them the night and send them off in the morning. Or perhaps at sunset, with the dying of Lady Sun's light. I will pray on which is most appropriate for a creature like this."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu speaks up for Nobuko's benefit with an idea, "Maybe twilight? Their brethren croak a lot then, right?"

[Miya Wyn]

He nods toward the Yasuki, "Yes. Otomosan Twilight seems logical, I am sure the servants can prepare a pyre by then. "

Would it be any different to have the pyre inside an oven? Probably not but Wyn was not going to naysay his fellow imperial on the subject.

[Kitsuki Asahi]

" I don't think Gekota-kun would like it if I ate his kin." Asahi stared at the frog in his hands. "I'm not sure honoring them would mean much to him either, but it's a nice thought."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

It was a silly although nice idea to make a funeral for... frogs. He still felt in a mixed way about her, but the attitude was getting overall more positive. She was from a different world in a sense, one he would never met if not by his invitation here.
Enough overthinking. He takes his weapons back and puts them where they belong. "Near a lake, if there is one near?"

[Matsu Qiang]

"Frog-eating isn't for me, I think," Qiang commented. "But don't let me stop you. Best of luck with the frog trade." With a jaunty wave he took his leave of the frog merchant.

Turning back to Bayushi Kaidan's room, the young Matsu tapped on the door frame. "Excuse me? Bayushi-san?" he called through the door. "It's Matsu Qiang, I just wanted to make sure Ninya made it through the excitement all right."

[Utaku Nesrin]

Nesrin wouldn't have minded some frog legs. There were stranger foods that came through with traders. But the small batch they had wasn't going to go far. She was actually rather curious what a frog funeral was going to look like, however.

"No lake, really, but the river runs around much of the town, so that would be easy to get to. There may be a pond in some of the gardens here." Then she imagines a funeral in one of the very manicured gardens around the Academy. "Buuut, I'm not sure they'd like a pyre set in any of the gardens.

Kokyou chuckles at whole thing, then crouches down and hops out of the corridor into his room, saying, "Ribbit!"

"She is fine..." He answered in a very somber tone. "I should have not done what I did yesterday... Jurojin seem to be... happy? and wanted for me to have a good omen?" He said questionly.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"The river should be the best place. It's where their kin are at."

[Kaito Haruki]

Haruki goes to the kitchen and asks permission from the inn keeper if he could use their kitchens to prepare a snack using the frogs he just bought from the merchant. He also requests a hinin to butcher them for him and collect the other dead frogs from the lobby.

The staff agrees and does as they are asked without any trouble.
