(Day 3, EE) Popup Event: This tastes funny..

((About this time, everyone who failed the Stamina roll is having quite a pain in their stomachs))

The ronin Aiichiro called over, the one who many have noticed to be acting somewhat suspicious approaches the group of competitors.

"Yes, Kaiu-sama?"

His voice has a hint of amusement in it, and there is a twinkle in his eyes.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Why did they replace the heimin who worked there with you? A servant of theirs with a ronin?" He asks, more curiously than accusatory. "As a note, I believe that as you started working in a inn, it would do good for you to train your culinary skills. My food was more bitter than usual, but fine nevertheless, although it may not be palateable to all tastes. I believe the customers of this place would preffer it to remain rooted on its traditions." He explains, insults hidden by the thinnest veil of courtesy he could provide. Not an expert courtier.

[Matsu Qiang]

"Is this dish your specialty, cook?" the Matsu asked, tilting his head towards the half-eaten bowl of food while watching the suspicious ronin carefully.

"What's in it, anyway? It's, ah, like nothing I've ever tasted before."

[Ikoma Eichiro]

"It ehm, very different from what I am used to at least." Eichiro states, "But my earth seems to be slightly unsettled."

[Togashi Dao]

Dao opens his mouth to speak, then hurriedly closes it again as his stomach rebels against its contents.

"I...you...oh dear kami..."

[Vutall]

"Oh, it's just a specialty the old governor of Hirosaka taught me to cook. I hope you enjoy it. He certainly thought you all would."

Another cheeky grin from the Ronin.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Is it one of those exotic spices that aren't good but give you sensations like pepper?" He asks, eating more fried rice from his bow.

"Something like that..."

The Moto sat and listened to the man speak, the mention of the governor and then the words about the spices he could tell the man was hiding something and such a thing angered him. He frowned and approached the table looking at the ronin "What did you put in our food? The truth of it."

Seeing an angry Moto was not a common sight, and it was quite intimidating, even when all that is being done is a question asked.

"Just a mild irritant. It will pass by tomorrow night. You will feel sluggish and weak....."

The man begins to walk backward slowly, toward the entrance.

[Moto Ichiro]

Ichiro narrowed his eyes "Don't try it, I'm faster than I look and it'll be worse if you run. So the governor, sorry, disgraced ex governor sent you here to sabotage our performance here at the tournament?" his tone was calm but undertones of a cold anger could be heard.

[Vutall]

The mans eyes shift from competitor to competitor, continuing to back up slowly, a hand dropping to the sword on his hip.

“You listen here, no one is going to believe you. You arnt adults yet. I’ll be leaving now, and as you puke your guts out tonight, remember who did this to you. He casts a wide net, you can’t escape him, and he can do much worse.”

[Moto Ichiro]

"And you are just a ronin tool for an incompetent and now likely criminal excuse for a man." he turned to look at the others "Shall we let it and him go?" he wasn't the wronged party here, the food hadn't hurt his stomach but he would help his fellows if they wanted justice for the slight.

[Togashi Dao]

Dao rose slowly, with anger in his heart, discomfort in his stomach and bile in his throat.

"Hmmmm. Clan students, or adult ronin, I'm not sure who the magistrates would believe, but I'm willing to find....."

Dao's speech is interrupted by a sudden burst of vomit, directed towards, but short of the disgraceful ronin.

"Me....you...tomorrow night...or are you too scared to fight a kid? You might not face Imperial justice, but you will face mine."

[Ikoma Eichiro]

Eichiro rises tenderly, "They will believe us over a ronin, that is for sure. I have seen worse today than you can do with that parangu of yours, ronin." He says, dismissively.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He nods a no to Moto Ichiro. "Anyone can do anything in the name of anyone." He says, hands to the handle of both Tessen. "Do you know what we do with pawns of evil like you in the Wall when they try to flee?"
He had no idea. Just wanted to sound menacing.

((Waiting for Qiang and Kichiro))

[Akodo Kichiro]

Kichiro presses his fist against his mouth as if to hold back vomit. His breath going haggard but spirit unwavering.

"No this villainy demands retribution." Kichiro rises from his sit and stands among the others. "Poisoning, in any form, is a most abhorrent crime against Bushido! A weapon of pure cowardice! You bring great shame to the little divinity coursing through your veins." A small wince from a spike of pain in his stomach. "Children we may be but we are the future of rokugan. You are only a barely tolerated guest within our empire. You are not the first only the next criminal I will apprehend for our local crane magistrate whom I have built a great rapport. Evidence all around us I'm sure the magistrate has excellent methods of extracting testimony! You will find your rights quite limited... Ronin."

[Matsu Qiang]

Matsu Qiang’s face had paled when his stomach had started to hurt, but as the others drew out the truth of what the ronin had done to them, the Matsu had become redder and redder with anger.

Qiang thought he should back up Kichiro’s grand speech. The Matsu wasn’t quite so eloquent, but the right words quickly came to mind.

“LET’S GET HIM!!” he yelled, lunging at the ronin.

Technique
Rank 1: -
When you are suffering TN penalties due to Wounds, you may make an Earth Roll (ignoring Wound TN penalties) during the Reactions Stage of each Round, with a TN equal to 5 + 5x the number of Wound Ranks you are currently suffering. If the roll is successful, you may ignore the effects of your Wound penalties until the next Reactions Stage. This Technique does not work once you reach the Down or Out Wound Ranks
