Oh but if I use a different trait then Fire, then i assume I can /not/ actually use my school technique on them is that correct?

If your technique or bonus keys off of a certain trait, you only get that technique or bonus if you actually use the trait it asks for.

Obstacle Course:

For Obstacles 1 & 2 - there's a stipulation of what happens on failure, and how to proceed further in the race.

For Obstacle 3 - if a person fails the obstacle, they don't fall in the mud, but must they continue to attempt the obstacle and lose Topaz Points until they succeed, or do they simply not gain the +1 Topaz point for that obstacle?

V, for the obstacle course, what happens if the contestants tie in a sprint roll? No points gained for both? 1 point for both? Do raises make any difference?

Obstacle 3 doesn't matter, it's specified in the event itself that only 1 and 2 keep giving penalties.

Can we post in more than one of the split bar fight threads? Since it seems like staying with the captured/dead ronin is also waiting on magistrates, and interacting with PCs may be either of those too.
