D7, Serpent: Bag o'Coin

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu was looking all over for the Hiruma sensei who'd been so helpful before.

[Vutall]

"Ah, hello cousin. What can I do for you?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

"Hi Sensei!" He bows carefully. "I sold all my mochi, and Kakita Kenji even gave extra coin. And I was wondering if you knew a good quartermaster I could send it to, to help out at the Wall."

[Vutall]

"Well, of course, but why wouldn't you send it to your lord? After all, what you have belongs to him"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

"I wanted to let them see the marks of the different clans on the coins. I thought, well, them knowing the next generation is thinking about them and has their backs might be important. It's a small amount. But maybe it makes a difference." He thinks on it for a bit. "I mean, I turned 3 bu into 5 bu. That could be an arrow. It could be a bunch of paper for maps or plans. It could be a medicine kit."

[Vutall]

"Very well then, I can send it out for you. Would you like to compose a letter with it?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He thinks on that. "I'm not very good at it, but yeah, I should. Someone I should address it to?"

[Vutall]

"No, I havn't quite decided who would appreciate it the most. But put some words down, it will be good."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He nods earnestly. "Okay. Uhm. I didn't bring paper with me. Can I give you the letter tomorrow, in the morning?"

[Vutall]

"I have paper you can use. Why not write now?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

A quick nod, "Yeah, that'll work. Okay."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He gets to work, and eventually, in his poor calligraphy, a letter reading.

You probably don't know me, but I'm Yasuki Ginkarasu. I and a bunch of students from across the Empire were sent to train in Hirosaka, under the Ruby Champion. I asked Hiruma Kagehiro-sensei who to send this to.

I know it's not a lot of coin, but I raised it selling mochi and also convinced a kind-hearted Kakita, Kakita Kenji, to make a donation to help the Crab defend the Wall. I used my whole stipend to raise the funds to buy the mochi first, and then a number of other students bought the mochi. One of the Miya spent a whole bu to buy just one!

I hope it can help, even in a small way. Maybe someone needs an extra arrow or two, maybe some more medicine. I don't know, but I bet you do!

He also hands Hiruma-sensei his bag of coin, all 4 bu and 13 zeni of it.

The Hiruma reads over the letter and nods in approval.

"You will make your family and school proud, Yasuki-san. Thank you."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He positively beams at that. And bows deeply.

"Thank you Hiruma-sensei!"
