Tournament preparation pt.2 (Expecting)

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"It is going to take a lot of time. Like two hours." He said reluctantly.

"So it would cut into your expected duties?"

[Kakita Kazuko]

Seeing Kenji so embarrassed also made Kazuko embarrassed. They're a team; she had to do or say something to help him.

"Ah, we were hoping to request some more expensive materials from Agasha-sama so that a suitable prize could be made which is detailed in this letter and that you or another talented sensei could referee the tournament to make sure everything is fair. An extra hour would also be helpful in ensuring that the tournament runs smoothly."

She gestures with one hand to Kazuko to bring forward the letter.

"I see. So, you took it on yourselves to not only interrupt your daily duties, but also to offer up a material prize that you do not possess."

She looks over the letter with a look of contempt.

"I would have expected better from my fellow clan mates. What are they teaching you these days."

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji raised his head again, grateful for having Aiichiro and Kazuko with him.

"We were not sure if we would get permission for the tournament, so we could not know if we would get the materials Doji Sakura-san needs, Doji-sensei. Besides, we planned this tournament as a distraction from all the strange things that are happening here and around the dojo, and wouldn't you agree that this is a good time to improve relations with students from other clans? Isn't it the Crane's duty to maintain relations between the clans?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"To guard the Wall." He shrugs, answering her question. "Ah, you asked about the Crane."

[Kakita Kazuko]

She gestures with one hand to Kazuko to bring forward the letter.

She looks over the letter with a look of contempt.

"I would have expected better from my fellow clan mates. What are they teaching you these days."

She hands over the letter, inconspicuously taking a look at the letter Doji sensei was writing as she reads it over. How could another member of her clan be so condescending and insult them so blatantly? It's not like she's a Lion or anything so she doesn't understand the unwarranted hostility... (need to roll later when Vutall tells me what i need to roll, maybe with a raise cause it's upside down probably?)

"This is a good opportunity to spread the knowledge about strategy and tactics and have fun while doing so. I believe that there shouldn't be a problem for us to want to craft something either as there are many students in the forge with materials obtained from the dojo, no? Also, students will be more inclined to look favorably upon a sensei that is able to be fair and have fun. Of course, if you do not approve of this, we can always give this position to another sensei and simply ask that you deliver the letter. I'm sure Akodo sensei would like to take the position with his love of strategy games and his recent classes have been looked favorably upon by various students."

[Vutall]

“Of course we allow the artisans to have the material they need to create! But to ask for things directly to use as a prize...so uncouth. I would certainly not want to end up in court with you, we’d be dead before the first lunch!”

She snatches the proposal letter deftly and begins to read it

[Kakita Kenji]

To redirect the conversation a bit Kenji asked: "How would you have done it, Doji-Sensei? My Dojo had more weight on teaching the way of the sword"

[Vutall]

She sets the letter down and purses her lips a little and lets out a loud breath.

"You must learn the arts of knowing just how much information to tell someone, and the way of double speak. You simply could have asked for some materials to hone a craft, and you could have asked about putting on something for all of the dojo students that would require more free time than you are normally permitted. "

She does give a bit of a nod though

"The plan seems well enough. What exactly would you have me do there?"

[Kakita Kenji]

"We did not know if it would be appropriate to confront Agasha-Sama directly, so we thought about asking someone in a higher position to take our request to her. Since no one else at court has such skill as you, Doji-sensei, and since you are a clan mate, I suggested that we approach you," Kenji said as sincerely as possible.

[Vutall]

"Alright, that again seems like a sound idea. So, let me make sure I understand this. The letter here says you wish Agasha-sama's blessing to conduct a tournament in two days ((Day 8)), during the hours of the Rooster and Dog. And that the winner of the tournament will be honored with something to remember the occasion by. Is that all?"

[Kakita Kenji]

(Would be D8 as this is D6)

"Hai, we also need to get permission for materials for Doji Sakura-san, so she can make the prize tomorrow so it's ready for the tournament. We have also prepared a small gift for Agasha-Sama that is included with the letter.

[Vutall]

"Very well. And you need me to oversee everything I take it? Wat game is being played?"

[Kakita Kenji]

"It would be a great honor to have you as a judge, but if we invite you, we should also invite the other senseis to watch the tournament," Kenji replied.

[Kakita Kazuko]

"The game we are planning on playing is Go."

[Vutall]

She nods.

"Very well then. Is that all? I have poetry to write."

[Kakita Kenji]

"Understandable" Kenji said bowing a last time.
"And Doji-sensei?,..... Thank you for your guidance."

[Vutall]

"If I didn't, I am terrified of what some of these other clans may teach you. Enjoy your day"

[Kakita Kenji]

Kenji waited outside for the others.
