Homework Over Lunch

[Miya Wyn]

Over lunch a young Miya is working on several pieces of paper making notes and copying scrolls in the Dojo's library.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Taking a seat near the Miya, Kaidan looked at the many papers puzzled. "Sama?" Had a scroll in hand. "Do you mind if I seat here?"

[Miya Wyn]

"Not at all, I was just making copies of these historical battle plans" He smiles and nods toward the empty seat.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"I see..." He took a seat. "I want to study ghost and the spirit realms." He nodded.

[Miya Wyn]

"I figure if I copy battle plans I am more likely to learn about them as I copy them, and also work on my Calligraphy at the same time" He shrugs, "But so far its just lots of letters and numbers"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Not a battle fan, tactics seem like something rather complex." Kaidan looked at his scroll. "Maybe you should focus on one battle and not so many at a time."

[Miya Wyn]

"Maybe that will be better...I wonder if I can find any scrolls that talk about single battles in depth instead of just this ... summary of various battles and...statistics." He sighs, "At least my hand writing has been getting better from repetition. " He grins, "What kind of Ghosts are you looking into?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Gaki... I am wondering if they have a preference of food. If there is a factor that makes people more susceptible to attacks."

"Gaki? Like Vampires right? No feet, don't they eat like Emotions or something? I don't know a lot about fairy tales, but they always seem like they are the bogey men in a lot of them.... go to bed or the Gaki will get you"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"I think they eat souls... or is that some other yokai." As he reads the scroll "It says here they eat what ever they can get their hand's on." He continued to read. "This seems interesting... they look vaguely human."

[Miya Wyn]

He nods, "But no feet, I remember that, all ghosts are footless, though sometimes they wear long kimonos to cover their feet so that you can't tell"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan nodded. "I apologize I am distracting you. May be you can help me" Kaidan smiled politely. "That is if you want to Sama."

[Miya Wyn]

He smiles, "I will pull some books and see what I can figure out from them, maybe Akodo's Leadership would be a better choice then transcribing battle reports, what is your interest in ghosts?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan smiled. "Probably a better choice. But also you may want to check games like Shoji." He recommended. "I think ghost don't like me and I want to know more about them."

[Miya Wyn]

"If someone doesn't like you, you should learn as much about them as you can, that's one of the basics of Otomo's teachings"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"That is why I want to learn more." Kaidan nodded. "Information is key, it can take you to many places."

[Miya Wyn]

"Well what does it say in those scrolls you got, anything interesting about these Gaki?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

He reads the scroll." Gaki are eternally hungry and thirsty. There are many kinds of gaki, each of which suffers in a different way related to the sins he or she committed in a past life. Some are unable to eat or drink anything at all. Whenever they try to eat, the food instantly bursts into flames and vanishes." He nodded. "Nice to know... But this doesn't sound like the legends I have heard."

[Miya Wyn]

"So can you force a rice ball down its throat and the whole ghost will burn up?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"I think it is the rice ball that bursts into flames and vanishes..." Kaidan sighed. "What a waste of food. It would be neat to see water bursting into flames." The teen chuckled.
