Crippled from being beat up as harshly as the mochi made on Matsu candy shops, the young Mantis boy manages to somehow reach out to the infirmary section of the dojo, seeking some of that addictive healing his favorite sensei had stored.

“The Imperial Ashigaru are no slouches. You are the second
student who has come to me barely able to walk.”

[Moto Ichiro]

Another student found their way to the infirmiry after combat class though Ichiro was decidedly less injured than Kokuyo was.

"What cart ran over you Kokuyo-san?" He asked with a small smirk.

[Kokyou]

"A cart filled wit' pain 'n determination t' keep on fightin' another day." He replies to the Moto. "Ye better learn from me example. Whenever ye go into full defense stance, be ready t' get yer blockin' moves well trained. Those scurvy scallywags take pleasure in beatin' us up."

"I be no second. I be the first one t' be beaten this hard! Har! I even lost a tooth. See?" He shakes his bloodied hand opens the palm to show the detached body part covered in mud.

Kokyou opens a gapping smile.

"Oh, my. Please come and sit. May I touch you?"

[Kokyou]

That question.

Kokyou holds his nose again.

"A-aye!"

She places her hand on the boy and then takes out a scroll, whispering a prayer to the Kami. Kokyou is filled with a strange sensation as the kami answers her call, mending the bruised and damaged flesh of him.

Kokyou is fully healed

[Kokyou]

"Thank ye, sensei. Ye 'ave inspired me t' bring even more greatness t' this Empire." He provides a sharp bow, then smiles with a wiggling eyebrow wondering if... "Would sensei be so kind t' provide that other blissful 'n refreshin' prayer t' this hard workin' student o' hers?"

"Of course, Mantis-san."

She motions for Ichiro to come forward

[Kokyou]

His eyes sparkle in joy looking at the sensei as he fantasizes about how his future waifu should be.

[Moto Ichiro]

"Of course, Mantis-san."

She motions for Ichiro to come forward

Ichiro does so and removes his top covering revealing a nasty purple and green bruise in his midsection "The gift from Hida-Sensei you treated was almost healed and then the peasants attacked. I'm almost fine but I can feel it getting in the way of my studies."

(At 6 wounds so just barely into nicked)

"Nothing more than a bruise I think. Some healing salve will help."

She prepares the herbal mixture and then spreads it on the bruise.

[Moto Ichiro]

the salve takes away the immediate nagging dull pain coming from the wound. He nodded "Thank you sensei."

[Kokyou]

Kokyou waits for the touching on him to resume like a puppy.

[Vutall]

She looks over both of them one last time and then nods.

"I believe that is all I can do, you should both feel much better soon."

[Kokyou]

He looks to Ichiro and then to himself and then to the sensei. That surely wasn't what he was asking for. Kokyou shrugs and nods. "Aye, sensei. I was wonderin' about that other, other blessin'. The one I got fer two nights in a row already."

[Vutall]

She shakes her head.

"I do not call on the kami lightly, Mantis-san. The blessing you received was due to necessity. This would not be."

[Kokyou]

He bows thankfully once more, saying, "I beg yer pardon, sensei. The Fortunes favor the bold. I hope I didn' importune too much."

[Vutall]

"No, though you should always remember that we shugenja are priests, Mantis-san. We only request the kami listen to us, we have no say if they actually do, and thus we must always take care when we ask them."

[Kokyou]

He nods, but the information comes to one ear and escapes the other, for sure. He smiles to his favorite sensei, nonetheless –– wondering if she's married. Then, he looks to the Moto.
