Yasuki Ginkarasu thinks long and hard about the judges hint as he collects the bokken for him to demonstrate kenjutsu. He does his best to recall his practice in the ocean, that had pushed him so hard to respond to the will of the ocean while keeping his footing. Surely that would do him well as a Crab, seeking to overcome the speed of a Unicorn.

He bows deeply to Himeko. "Do your best Utaku-sama! I hope you'll see me at mine!"

She immediately doesn't, as he tries real hard to impress the Akodo and Kakita judges and manages to stumble on some rocks during his demonstration of his sword skill, which really should be impressive with the amount of hours he's worked on it, but seems foolish in execution.

"I am surprised, I had heard you were a fearsome fighter. I thought my strikes would have been riposted easily."

"I apologize, I did not manage to bring my best today. I got in my own head."

"It happens to all of us. Tell me, what were you thinking about?"

"I was remembering Shinjo defeating Hida, and thinking I'd need to be faster. Guess it pays to think of victory, not defeat."

"If I am to understand correctly, does not the Akodo only study defeat though?"

A nod, "Maybe... I think Mirumoto said to know that you have won and then do so."

"I think when you are in the moment you must believe you will always win, but after, you must study the defeat, either of yourself, or of your opponent. Only studying the win would not help one grow. "

He bows a bit. "That seems very wise, thank you."
