Ichiro bows to the Ikoma with a smile, "They say even the courtiers of the Lion can be fierce combatants. Don't hold back - show me your fighting spirit!"

He then bows to the judges and enters into his kata - flowing through the movements, from start to end, as the river flows to meet the sea.

Nijiro enters the ring, testing a few katana, before selecting one.

He returns the bow to the Unicorn. "Child of the Ki-Rin, I am honored by your words, I expect the same from you. Let us see true honor and glory today!!!"

His kata shows more of the fury of the tidal wave, of the typhoon as it hits landfall..

He then focus his attention on his opponent, a fiendish smile settles on his face

Day 4 LM Initative: 4d10o10k3 19

Just barely noticing the Utaku is prepared to strike, Nijiro takes the initiative and moves to his left, bypassing where he thinks the strike will go and attempts the stike a less defensive point.

Watching the Lion's technique and the trajectory of the first blow the Unicorn judges it is best to suffer the strike and not over exert himself so that he will be in a better position for the future.

The Lion strike does indeed connect, and he holds no malice against his opponent, so he does not attempt to cause an excessive wound

He spins in a circle from the last strike, preparing to use the momentum to cause the blade to make a lower, spinning cut on the legs.

Day 4 2nd contested roll STR/Kenjutsu: 10d10o10k4 39

Ichiro's gambit paid off as he jumped the Ikoma's blade and his own came down on Nijiro's shoulder - the Utaku showing similar restraint in leaving only a slight impact.

Nijiro moves backwards as he feels the balde nick his shoulder. He nods "A well placed hit, Utaku san."

He then decides to go for a new method, one of pure fury and rage, like a storm in the middle of the ocean, as he rushes forward, sending one huge overhead strike down the front of the Unicorns chest

Day 4 LM 3rd Round Str/Kenjutsu: 10d10o10k4 37

The storm may move the ocean but it does not harm the ocean. The ocean rolled with the swell, letting it flow past, then returned to it's calm state - though a light reminder of the interaction was left on the Ikoma's ribs.

While taking the blow to the ribs, Nijiro hopes that the moment has come, as the Utaku lets the Lion move past, he swings his blade, hoping to hits the heels of the Unicorn before he spins around

He does indeed tap the heels - though just barely.

"It seems we are well matched. You do your clan proud. Time for the deciding strike and to see who Bishamon favors this day."

He nods to his competitor "As are you, Utaku san, worthy of remembrance. " A spark flashes in the Lion's eyes "But I know how to make this last blow interesting.... loser pays for the first round of sake tonight."

At that he charges forward, the taste of won sake almost palpable on his lips as he swings
Day 4 LM 5th Round Str/Kenjutsu: 10d10o10k4 29

"I have no coin so I suppose that just means I'll have to win." He grins and prepares himself.

As the Ikoma charges he once more lets him flow past. This time anticipating the strike at this heels he is already rolling to one side as Nijiro turns and his bokken clips the other boy square in the chest. Though Ichiro tries to hold the blow the momentum of both of them causes it to hit a little harder than before.

"Looks like Bishamon has decided drinks are on you. Good match, Ikoma-san."

He bows respectfully.
