Tanshin read the scroll carefully, it was becoming slightly worn with its recent, repeated use.
He chanted for the blessings of Reversal of Fortune, and once again struggled with the excited response.

Tanshin looks slightly panicked when they do not answer his call.

He bows to Mirai as they take to the mat.
"Good-luck, may the fortunes guide you."

Tanshin takes a ready stance and settles himself as he prepares to demonstrate his Bo technique.

Mirai approached and gave a deep bow in return. She said nothing, but instead did a demonstration of her kenjutsu before moving to start the back and forth.

The light damage didn't really seem to phase Mirai, though her next swing was worse than her first.

Mirai shrugged off the blow with a twist, though it was clearly a well placed hit. She seemed to have a resurgence of her own as she did a sweep with her bokken.

Tanshin had barely a moment to enjoy his small victory as the bokken swept towards him!

Even though she pulled her blow again, she did a bit firmer of a whack this time. Perhaps a bit cautious, her next swing was a bit lighter.

Tanshin took a quick step back to create distance, and attempted a thrust with the end of his bo!

D4 LM Attack 5 Bojutsu/STR: 6d10o10k3 19

But it is not enough to counter the raw talent of Mirai!

Tanshin bowed to Mirai.

"Thank you for the most excellent duel. Your masters will be proud of your performance. If I may ask, where did you receive your training?"

Mirai managed to pull this blow more thanks to her caution. She gave a deep bow back. "Arigato, Isawa-sama. I have no masters, and I received no training. I am self taught, other than practice at public dojo."

Tanshin smiled. "Your master should be proud, indeed."

Tanshin retreated to a corner of the dojo where he attempted to center himself. The kami had not answered as they had before. Was his offering last night not enough?
