Hazrat bows to Tōya as they enter the dojo, then sets about to prepare himself, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He does some stretching exercises, meditates briefly, and chants a mantra to ask for luck in the coming contest.

Hazrat picks a wooden sword. While it is not a scimitar, the size and weight is similar enough that he is able to adjust. He then settles into the water stance, focusing on being flexible and adaptive.

Starting his demonstration, Hazrat decides to give it an additional flourish. It is as much a warm-up for the actual bout as a performance of skill, after all. At first, he is unsure about his abilities, but as he recites the mantra of luck he is able to relax and move more confidently.
