Kaidan looked at Ninya. "This might be difficult with you around. Will you stay put inside this box?" Ninya seemed to understand him "Nya!" She walked around inside the box finding a confortable spot.

He looked at the Iuchi and bowed. "Seems our spar is an actual competition now." He smiled. He bowed to the judges and again to Prashant.

Prash looks at Kaidan and the cat, and smiles happily as he places her in a box.
He then gives the Scorpion a friendly smile and bows to him when he walks into the contest area. "Seems like our match was fated to happen, ne? I'm happy to have you as my partner for this contest!"

He takes a moment to do his usual meditation, clasping hands together in a Yin-Yang gesture, takes a Katana-shaped bokken, then positions himself in the ring and bows to the judges and to Kaidan again.

"Let's do our best, Bayushi-san!", he says, with a friendly, happy smile of one more eager for the chance to finally spar with him than particularly concerned about the competition.

When they set down to perform their Kata, the Iuchi actually manages a very good performance - most likely not the best the judges will see that day, but still quite good, especially for a shugenja.

He moved toward the Iuchi using his fancy footwork but basically it was predictable to say the least.

Kaidan's movements are fluid, but Prashant senses some uncertainty in them, and by moving around the Scorpion he manages to predict his strike, sidestepping it and getting a good hit to his side, in a bit of a risky maneuver.

He is a bit more careful on his second attack, stepping back to gain some space, then advancing for a strike from below.

Kaidan shook his head. This is not his style, this is not how he was taught to do things. He know that the shugenja will have the advantage. He won't give in to his doubts. He knows this is one of his worse ways to approach things but he isn't here to win, but to learn.

The Iuchi uses some flexible footwork to circle Kaidan's movements again, and manages to get the second hit - this time just a quick touch at the side of his leg - before taking another step back.

It seems clear that the Scorpion doesn't seem too comfortable with this fluid style, but the Unicorn tries to encourage him with a nod and a 'ganbatte' in a low voice before he starts circling him again, this time going for a more indirect movement trying to get a hit at his side.

He nodded to the Iuchi and now he was starting to understand the element of fluidity. He saw the boy's new fancy approach and moved aside to gave a tab on the Iuchi's arm.

This time, the Scorpion's response was quick and precise - much as he had been when using a more Air and Fire-based style when they sparred the year before. Feeling his hit, the shugenja steps back again, a small smile appearing on the side of his lips as he nods to Kaidan again.

He then starts moving again, apparently going for a high hit this time, but this time his footwork is much more uncertain, and he moves much more slowly than before

He nodded again. He was getting a bit more comfortable. Seem that the kami helping Prashant were a bit fickle and gave Kaidan another opening. This time he anticipated and followed the fluid movement of the Iuchi giving a hit on the back of the head.

This time Kaidan's hit got Prash a bit harder, but once again, when he feels the hit he just takes a step behind and nods at the Scorpion, smiling slightly.

He then goes in for the last round, starting with a more direct step forward, then flowing to his left when he gets in range, aiming for a hit at the back of the Bayushi's leg.

Kaidan nodded as the Bayushi tried to focus on water but the Iuchi was better equipped. Prashant is a child of the wind, he moved faster than Kaidan could anticipate. Kaidan was prepared. He knew... he wasn't made to be water he was air and fire.

The young Bayushi accepted his defeat

The last swirl of movement of both contestants was quick, beautiful, and quite challenging. In the end, Prash manages to move a bit more quickly, and hits Kaidan's calf, with a bit more strength than he intended, but still not enough to cause serious wounds.

He steps back again, standing at the centre of the ring in front of the Bayushi, and bowed respectfully to him. "Thanks for the match, Bayushi-san! It has been fun"

As he gets back up, he nods again, with a friendly smile. "If we can meet again for another spar, I'd like to see you using your usual style, Bayushi-san. I'm sure I'd have quite a bit to learn from it."

Before they leave the ring, he nods at the Scorpion a last time, offering some help with the wounds from the match if he would want it.

The Unicorn looks happily at Kaidan's cat, then nods again.

"Tomorrow at the start of the evening, then?"
