Nesrin offers a bow with the slightest of smiles touching her eyes. Serious events weren't for wide grins, even if the prospect of racing through the forest makes it tough not to smile all the way through. May the Fortunes guide you Miya-sama.

Of course she was still competitive enough to hope they might guide her better, and so she leapt off the mark, exactly as she would in races with her sisters back home. Down the path and through the trees, using every root bit to launch a bit more off of, and leaping the log with ease.

While Wyn attempts to keep up, the Utaku starts off much better then him, causing him to lose some momentum and actually miss the rope over the pit, he spends several vital seconds trying and floundering in the mud before finally making it to the edge and just as he is pulling his mud covered form free, he smiles up at the Utaku as she offers him a hand. Taking it he nods to her, thanking her, before heading off into a run again. He pulls a head slightly of her in the ongoing race, not pausing at all the the wall as he vaults it with little issue. In the end he ends the race with at least a little hope in his eyes.

After the race he attempts to find his center to put everything behind him, and fails.

Nesrin keeps up her pace through the forest, appreciating the shade they didn't have for such races on the plains. She's pretty sure her height gives her an advantage, leaping to the ropes, because the obstacle seems to barely slow her. Wyn isn't so lucky though.

Rounding another turn, she glances back and sees that he's still not in sight, and her joyous run slows. "C'mon, you know it doesn't really matter who's first to the end. Bushido demands Compassion not Competition." Swinging her way around a sapling to reverse course, she speeds back to stop at the edge of the mud and offer a hand to her bedraggled competitor. "Don't slow down for these, you need all the momentum you can get, neh?"

It costs her some time, and she reaches the next obstacle and the finish line after the Miya has passed them. But, after her embarrassment at the wall in training, her determination alone is almost enough to clear this one. Anyone watching might swear she'd simply leapt over it.

Skidding to the finish, she pauses, hands on her knees, huffing to catch her breath. "Good run!"
