The New Winds

Prash hadn't been able to think about gifts much during the last days, with all that had been happening.

But there were some people he would like to give something meaningful to, so it was time he started thinking about that.

As he headed outside the town - keeping the brim of his simple robes up so as to avoid some of the mud that was inevitably finding its way to it - he focused on his inner water for some time first, then started thinking. What did he know about Toshimoko? Would he like the one thing he had already crafted in Tsuma? There.... was some significance in that as a gift, but...

As he kept thinking about it, he started looking for interesting stones, loose bamboo stalks, flowers and leaves with interesting shapes... and particularly stones and leaves that seemed to be common in the area, and might capture the 'spirit' of the area surrounding Tsuma.

Prashant is able to find a wide variety of materials that are prominent around Tsuma, all of which are quite beautiful and excellent samples which could be combined to make something with.

(Any useful info about Toshimoko from the Lore roll on him?)

Toshimoko has been te Governor of Tsuma and the head of the Kakita Academy for some time. It is said he is a bit of a womanizer, that he has a fondness for alcohol, and that none can best him in a duel. He is also fond of humor and like most Crane, has an appreciation for art, beauty, and elegance.

After some time, Prashant believes he has an idea. Having gathered enough materials for one trinket, maybe more, he sets down to work, sitting under a tree. He focuses on his inner Air now as he thinks about how to approach creating the gift.

He uses some twigs, leaves and flowers to create an ornament emulating the shape of the map of Tsuma - using the map Miya Wyn gave him the day before as a guide. In the centre of the map, a set of dryer leaves and harder twigs is used to create something which resembles the top of the Temple to Amaterasu. Inside, a bright, beautiful stone typical of the region, with a poem carved:

First wind of the spring -
Trials met with joy and mettle
True hearts guide true hands

When all is done, he smiles, happy with the result.
