In his student clothes whilst the kimono would be spared to hang dry for this evening's meeting, he passes over the sake house and see only ashes as everyone told him so.
He sighed from over a pony and asked many times many people in the road where Soma lived. He gave his word, now needed to do something about it. Arriving on the peasant's house, he knocks the door.

The older man comes to the door and slides it open slowly. Seeing Aiichiro, he falls prostrate.

"Samurai-sama. Good morning. What can I do for you"

"I have heard the sake house is in shambles, caused by a great fire. How did it originate?"

"When the Shugenja began their ritual, flame grew from nowhere and consumed everything it touched. We all barely had enough time to get out before the whole place was up in flames. Then, there was a loud boom and pieces of wood and debris were flying everywhere"

"Hm, it may be something related to spilled sake in the ground. Beverages are good for feeding flames." He replies. "I gave you a word I'm now not able to complete. For this, I must compensate."
He stretches his neck, looking inwards the house, seeing if someone else lived there other than Soma.

The house seems empty.

"Is there work your age allows you do to at this land?"
To Aiichiro he looked very old. Most crab died before looking like that.

"I am not sure. My place has always been at the Poisoned Water, samurai-sama"

"There are many sake houses on my lands, but they are one month south. If you can endure the travel, and would wish to do so, you could travel there."

"I would need permission from my lord, Kakita Toshimoko-sama, to do so. I am bound to him, Kaiu-sama"

"This is something I could arrange. But to see your life destroyed by the consequences of our acts, this is something I would never allow to be."
He shrughs.
"The alternative is helping you survive until you manage to train another craft on Tsuma."

"At my age it would be difficult to learn a new craft, Finding another sake house to manage would suit me best."

"Wouldn't it be equally hard to walk a month on foot?" He frowns.

"Likely so, but travel can be mae easier with carts. I have some funds stored away."

"I would just hire a place on caravan, likely."

He nods.
