(Day 6, LE) Celebration Feast (Roleplay Thread)

[Ikoma Eichiro]

"How could it not be? The implication that life is a lie would be..."

Her voice trails off, and she looks a bit stunned.

"It would throw everything into question." Eichiro continues, "but can life even be defined in such a way with mere weak words that limit it?" He was reaching now, "could the limitation be that we cannot understand it as we are now?"

[Kitsuki Asahi]

"I am afraid not." he shook his head. "I appreciate their beauty and the wonder they evoke, but they aren't something I can study and understand directly."

"Learned that people's destiny is intertwined by what the heavens tell you. " He nodded. "Obahan taught me how to read the stars."

"Oh? Are they saying anything tonight?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

He looked up and watched. "Health, fortune, fame - they are all illusion. 
Prosperity is only a game played by fools.
The fruit of success tastes sour in the mouth.
Soon you will mourn your dreams of worldly glory"

[Kitsuki Asahi]

"I can not argue with that." he chuckled. "As prestigious as the tournament is, it will really only gives glory to one of us. The rest of us will find our own way, for better or worse."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"So it is... there are other happenings here. And I think these star talk about our host." Kaidan sighed. "Tomorrow will be a hard day for him."

[Kitsuki Asahi]

"There are." he nodded. "I've only seen glimpses, but I'm certain more will be revealed. Hopefully, fate will be kind to the competitors."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

He nodded as well. "Maybe... yet it is unnerving that someone is doing things behind the scenes."

[Kitsuki Asahi]

"Very." he agreed. "I'd like to expose them, but I haven't been able to find much."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"The right time will come." He said cryptically. "Their judgement will come as well."

"This is why the Dragon seek Enlightenment, Ikoma-san, so that we do understand. Or that we understand there is nothing to understand. I have not reached that state however. It is rare for one so young to do so."

"I hope we are there to see it, Bayushi-san." he smiled at the thought.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Oh, we will be there..." He stood up. "I should get going. It was nice talking to you, Kitsuki san."

[Ikoma Eichiro]

"Oh, we will be there..." He stood up. "I should get going. It was nice talking to you, Kitsuki san."

"Enjoy your evening." he stood and offered a bow. "I think I'll get some rest."

Eichiro considered that for a moment, "Is Enlightenment one of the destinies set for some of us by Heaven? I know that Lion seek our destiny in glory and honorable deeds instead of enlightenment. I confess, I know little about it as the Tao is not something that I have read."

"Enlightenment is not a destiny, no. It is a personal path. You know of the Tao, do you not?"

"I know of it, yes." There had been a scroll in his dojo and at home, both well cared for but unopened. "Wisdom given by Shinsei to Hantei-no-Kami and recorded by Shiba-no-Kami."

"And have you read it?"

He had to think hard about it, which made the answer a no. "Not directly, no. I read a commentary once, contrasting it with some of the teachings of Akodo-no-Kami, but that doesn't count as actually reading it."

"Oh, you must read it! Things will make more sense once you do"

"I cannot," he says, "there is not a copy for reading in all of Lion lands. Such is tradition from the dawn of the Empire." In truth it had been curiosity that had drawn him to the commentary, but the reading had been quite dry and dismissive.
