Tanshin knelt before the altar, and ignited the incense. He let his mind clear, and began the chants that had been drilled into him by his Isawa-sensei. Chants of contrition and cleansing.

He gave thanks to the Earth Kami for aiding him in his Sumai contest. After seeing the new Matsu nearly kill his opponent, the aid of the kami could have spared his life, had the Unicorn Maiden been trained better, and had similar aggression.

He gave thanks to the Fire Kami for aiding his mind. He sacrificed several prayer scrolls that he had prepared to appease them, and hopefully avoid their wrath.
