The New Winds

The Kitsuki had gone out to locate proper materials to construct a cage for Gekota. He came across the House of the Exotic, however, and was intrigued by the possibility of finding a cage within.

This young man is no cage –– except for having kidnapped and locked the heart of many pretty maidens across Rokugan. Yet, there he is, as exotic and... well... merchant as the house itself. Not that an honorable soul, above reproach if not by the highest echelons of the Imperial Bureaucracy like Kokyou of the Mantis, Son of the Storm, Bushigenja Hero of Hirosaka, and now the most famous Artisan in Tsuma -– except for the Master of the Kenshinzen, perhaps –– would deal with petty matters such as bartering. Yet, he's Mantis. So, yeah... double the exoticness with all the presented controversies, indeed.

He narrows an eye to the Dragon, and raises an eyebrow.

"Good morning." he offered a respectful bow.

Kokyou returns a flourished bow, "Jolly mornin'!"

He looked around the shop. "The items for sale here are very interesting. I'm not sure what some of it is."

"Some o' these gaijin items can be tricky, but many are mighty useful. " Kokyou points to the spyglass, explaning, "This one makes ye see thin's from afar as they were closer." Then he points to the astrolabe, "This one makes sure that –– if ye know how this works out –– that ye ne'er wench yer route by sailin' usin' th' kami 'n thar stars as guides."

The Mantis then points to a series of metal circles one on top of the other, "This thin' here makes one's neck taller. Nah sure why scallywags would wants that. Looks like a torture tool t' me."

"Very interesting." he studied each item with curiosity. ""Is there anything that would be appropriate for keeping a frog?"

"A pond?" Kokyou mentions.

"I was hoping for something more portable, such as a cage." he said.

"Won't a cricket gibbet do? I mean wha' size be th' frog we be natterin' about? I do 'ave a frog trappin' device here wit' me. " Kokyou shows the item he gained from the merchant when they 'rescued' the poisonous frogs at the inn.

"It might." he nodded. "I was just looking for options. He's about this large. I acquired him at the same time I acquired my frog trapper."

"Well. Ye can 'ave mine, then. So ye don't lose yers. Thar aren't many frogs in th' sea, aft all." Kokyou takes the item and offers to Asahi with both hands.

"No, they wouldn't be in the sea." he agreed. "I suppose I could fashion something using an extra trap. But, you might find a use for it yourself, at some point."
