Kokyou made sure to follow said servant, as he promised the Imperial he would see this through. So, he's actually just behind. They nearly bump. Recomposing himself after checking the handmaiden going away, the Mantis excuses himself with a flourished bow. He says, "Jolly afternoon, Kakita-san. I hope ye 'ave had some good rice, today. Fish on it, if ye 'ave been a good lad."

Kokyou enters and shrugs, looking to the letter, "I wrote thar if ye 'ave come t' any decision wit' Kakita-sama regardin' Chen-san's future. Now that his sister has been taken into service by Otomo-sama. Th' sprog needs some guidance, else he's goin' t' get back astray."

"Please have a seat" Kenji gestured. After Kokyou, eventually, sits down Kenji explained: "I tried to get Doji Ranma-samas attention since the last time we met, sadly, since the Bar Fight and the Fire, he hasn't replied to me. It seems like he is occupied to much with these events."
Kenji made a pause
"Concerning the loss of a potential working space and with the fire destroying a lot of houses in Tsuma, i fear it will be hard to find him work here in Tsuma. You had offered to take him to the Mantis, does that offer still stand?"

"I wouldna date be so bold as t' loot somethin' from th' Crane, or t' suggest as such. Yet, I be indeed invested in seein' th' lad finds a solution." Kokyou mentions, just polite enough not to sound too cocky, as he usually is.

"As i will become a Gokenin after the Gempukku, i could take him under my personal wing. With how things are going, i could make a offer to Kakita-dono to transfer him to me. His personal feelings don't matter on this topic, but i would like to ask him if that is in his own interest. If you like, i could send a servant to get him."

Kokyou sits in seiza and shakes his head. "No needs t' get 'im. He's goin' t' do good on whatever his Clan tells 'im t' do. I jus' wanted t' make sure he'll be taken care o'. So, I 'ave yer word, I believe?"

"No needs t' promise me anythin'. Ye'll soon be full samurai, as will I. Yer actions will prove yer intentions, 'n yer honor." Kokyou smiles, but his eyes were serious.

"Shinsei said: You own every Word you speak. I live by these Words, Kokyou-san. Chen will be taken care of, if he will be in service of Tsuma or under my wing, we'll see, but he will find a place." Kenji said, with a serious expression

Kokyou provides a deep bow to the Crane. "Thank you very much, Kakita-san. May the Fortunes bless you in double for such example of compassion."

Kenji provides an apporpiate bow back. "Surley the Fortunes already blessed you for not forgetting the most important duties the samurai have to fulfill: taking care and giuding the peasantry."

"Aye. They did bless me." He smirks, going back straight up in his seiza with a face that tells he's expecting tea, or to be invited out of the room.

"Ye're a student from th' Kakita Academy. Train as I might, rather difficult t' surpass yer techniques. In any chance, if so th' Fortunes wish, I shall certainly play against th' odds wit' a smile." He says, bowing another time and taking his leave.

After Kokyou left Kenji sat down sighing.
Chen is a constant source of quarrel and discord. He thought.
Now Kenji had a promise to fulfill. Sometime after Kokyou left, Kenji called a Servant to get that pesky boy to him.
