Mirai watched two performances in particular, though she watched all. At the first, a performance by a Mantis, she gave a soft sign. The other was watched for, though she had finished her own artistry first.

After his performance Kenji joined the others. Someone got into his focus. He knew from the lists that a ronin was participating in the championship and Ginkarasu had written him a letter about it.
He greeted Mirai with a slight bow: "I don't think we have introduced ourselves yet? Kakita Kenji, pleased to meet you".

Not his best performance, Kaidan sat in the looming dark. He just sighed. This was not his thing. They teach us one way then it they just want to mix it up... whatever.

Ah, the boy that kept getting beat up. Mirai gave him a bow after making certain she got to watch the performance she'd been waiting for, though she quickly looked away when spotted to turn to Kenji. "Very true Kakita-sama. I already know you are Kakita Kenji, you have made a name at this tournament, but it is an honor all the same. This one is known as Mirai."

"Very well Mirai-san. Not a name to be proud of yet, but one I think I have now," he said with a frown. "My friend Yasuki Ginkarsu-san told me about you, I heard you' re well versed in the way of Iai?"

"I have some practice, hai, though I am not certain you would call it being well versed or not," she commented humbly. "Certainly not to the level of a trained Mirumoto or Kakita practitioner."

"Nevertheless, you must be good enough that someone finds it necessary to invite you here and so far you seem to be more than up to expectations."

"I am a samurai in the end, so that must be worth something. I'm certainly honored to have received the invitation I got from your clan Kakita-sama, and can only hope to show myself well for the entire tournament."

"I find it remarkable that you were able to impress someone from my family, I hope to be able to test your skills in the Iaijutsu tournament"

"I am not actually certain what family my sponsor is from Kakita-sama, merely that he is a Crane." She gave a small bow. "Still, that does not change that I look forward to the change."

Dao had completed his poem, he knew he had to also display another form of artistry, and he looked around the room. His artform was not as solitary as smithing, or needing a passive audience like storytelling.
His artform required a connection, a commitment and he scanned the room in hope...

Haruki looked around the room once he was finished with his portion of the artistry contest. He was fortunate enough to have good scraps from cutting the various vegetables into presentable pieces. This means there are plenty to snack on while looking at others' work. He notices Dao looking around in the middle of his work, what does he need?

Not the one he expected approached. "I hope you are feeling well Togashi san."

"Oh, really? Can you describe him? If he saw you dueling i guess he must be a Kakita!"

Dao expresses a wan smile at Kaidan. "I am a little better, yes thankyou Bayushi-san. I guess word passed around quickly of what happened."

He didn't know what it was but something seemed right about the Miya in this moment and he approached the refined young man.
"Miya-san, I don't mean to be presumptuous," Dao speaks as he lifts up a set of tattoo needles. "But I feel a pull towards you at this moment in our timelines. A closeness that I would commemorate on this day. Do you feel it too?"

Wyn nods, "I do feel like it is the right time for...something. I have been having a much better day today then yesterday, is there a way I can be of assistance to you Togashi-san? "

Dao holds up the tanka that he had created at the feet of the judges for inspection to Wyn.
"I had come here with the thought of offering a tattoo to Utaku Oichi-sama, to represent the bond we share. It seems that the fates have inspired me to create a different work, a work that reflects the trials and victories that the students of Hirosaka have shared and will share in the future."
"It only seems right to share it with another student, if you were interested."

Kaidan took a side step and back to the shadows he went... Ninya should be his solace. Kaidan does good things to people but life gives him lemons. He should just stay in the shadows and not speak to anyone.
