Kokyou would allow bad omens to befall him or the Mantis Clan our of a failure on his part. Decided to make amendments, he takes the partially squished clay wave figurine and tries to compensate the earth voices in his head with the noise at the inns dining table.

As time passes, he finally manages to fully comprehend the power of the earth he wears: Kokyou finishes the clay wave artifact. Proud of his accomplishment, he raises up and takes stand on top of the table, announcing to those gathered with the item in hand,
"I, Kokyou o' th' Mantis –– th' breathin' ambition o' discovery, wealth, glory an' conquest. Th' seed o' th' storm, soon th' become th' mightiest full-pocketed gentlemen o' fortune this world an' that 'as e'er known! Besides bein' an unrivaled bushi, only capable o' losin' t' those blessed by th' Heavens, a mighty shugenja, capable o' movign th' mighty land at me owns will –– am also, now, an artisan! Behold!"
