Last night on the roof

Sakura had climbed up after that huuuuge meal. Far more than the girl would normally eat, and she felt like napping, but she didn't want to miss this. The last night at this place, before she went home.
She sighed softly, looking up at the night, and whispered "what now?" to seemingly nobody in particular. Although she knew Zashi would be up soon enough.

"I don't know." Zashi is climbing up as he hears the words. The Fox offers a gulp. "For the first time in a while, I really don't know what the road ahead will be like. But, I can think of a few stops that I would like: take a pretty girl home. Impress her parents into marrying her. Get ready to come back and impress everyone here so they don't have a problem with step 2"

"Come back? Oh, the topaz championship" Sakura nodded "will you go back to the Fox clan lands before going to Tsuma? Tsuma is quite close to my home, but I understand if your clan and family need to see you also."

"I may stop on the way back to Tsuma, but I don't need to." Zashi reaches for Sakura's hand. "But being invited to stay and train in Crane lands should be seen as an incredible honor for the Fox. No person from Kitsune Mori would balk at me for availing myself of the opportunity. Besides, I have new family to meet, meh?"

"Ano..." Sakura moved her hand so her fingers could intertwine with his "if you stop over at the Fox lands on the way back, could I come? I want you to meet my family, but I want to meet yours too. I'll need to meet them anyway so that they can be happy with me, ne?"

Zashi is thoughtful. "I'll see what I can do. My family are rather private, but I would imagine they would want to take a sniff at any prospective mate." Something about it seems to be bothering him though.

Zashi pauses a hair too long. "Not if we let them know we are coming. They have some old traditions, ones you don't see too often outside of Kitsune Mori, so they might just attend the wedding itself. I would imagine that would want to be there."
Zashi puts a hand on Sakura's cheek. "I have to get to that part first, but I am looking forward to it"
