When Ginkarasu heard about the extra credit, he wasn't certain that this was what the Tengu meant the cloak to be used for, but he should really practice at least once with it, right? So he could use it correctly in the future when it was really important?

And really, with how competitive everyone was, there was no way he'd be able to keep up if he didn't try his best.

Plus, the sensei here really wanted their students to have a wide breath of knowledge.

He tied the cloak closed, floofing about for a few seconds before remembering what he was trying to accomplish.

Whether or not it worked though, was tough to tell. He certainly didn't feel any different when he opened his eyes.

He should probably try and D9 Monkey: Meditation (Void Recovery) / Void TN 20: 5d10o10k2 18]focus on the void[/url], like Kitsuki-sensei said. That way he'd better understand himself.

It was really difficult. He kept finding himself wondering what he looked like with the fancy cloak on.

Sliding the shoji to the Crab part of the barracks was Ginkarasu with the same idea he did. There was their final evaluation soon, and he would need all help he could get. Even magical Kenku cloaks.
He enters silently the room and meditates with the cloak over his shoulders as he sees Ginkarasu doing his same — be should know what he was doing then! But apparently he was doing it better than Aiichirō, because again the Kaiu had problems with keeping inner peace.
Waking up from this failed attempt to immersion, Aiichirō removes the cloak quickly. Bet he looked ridiculous with it. Seemed like the kind of thing that would get extra cool with armor, though.

He looks at Ginkarasu. If he asked exactly what the silver raven was doing, perhaps he could gain some insight. He got up, planning to do it later. Then trips on a box that wasn't usually there. "Who left this thing in front of my futon?" He asked in indignation, forgetting he was not alone.

Kenji, armed with a mop, was just coming through the barracks when he heard something from the crab compartment. "Hello? Aiichiro-kun, is that you?"

Ginkarasu opens up his eyes. "What? Who? Thing?"

He slides the shoji open when he hear Kenji's voice. "Yes, that..." He looks at the box, notices something curious and sits next to it to draw near. "Oh."

"Everything is alright?" Kenji asked while entering the crab compartment "Oh Ginkarasu-san is here, too " Kenji quickly bowed to both of them.

Ginkarasu bows back.

Kenji saw the Black Feather cloacks they were wearing. "Uhm, are these the things you got from the Tengu?" Kenji remembered his talk with Ginkarasu the other day.

"Yup! They're supposed to help you master your elements!" He grins. "Although I don't feel any different."

"I tried to use it but had no success." He replies and open the box. It was really what he thought. "I believe I'm going to start doing something. Artisan-doing. Do any of you two want to watch?"

"What kind of artisan doing?" Ginkarasu asked, bending forward to try and get a look at what was in the box.

He smiled slightly, giving space for the boy to bend over. In the box there were lines, some blocks of wood, paint, three chisels and a small knife.
"Should be easy to guess out."

"You're going to make a castle?" Ginkarasu asks, totally innocently.

He laughs, really believing it. "No, not that. But you reminded me of something important." He said, going to his netsuke and starting to take things out of it, some simply put away, others put aside.
When he was satisfied with the separated things, he put the unrelevant others back in the bag. He had taken out a piece of coal, chopsticks, a wooden doll, some sheets of parchment and a ruler.

Kenji watches the scene with interest. He has learned a lot in the last few days, but he never saw Aiichiro making anything, but he could remember talking about Kaiu only giving away things they made themselves to people they think are important.

He sat down with the two boys.

Ginkarasu looks over to Kenji. "We get to see a Kaiu make something! How lucky!"

"Yes, I can't wait to see what it will be," Kenji said and watched intently.

In order not to sit in silence during the manufacturing process, Kenji tried to start some small talk: "What did you think of the tournament yesterday, Ginkarasu-san?"

Putting the drawing materials inside the box, the Kaiu took it on his arms.
"A sleeping room without any tables isn't the best place for crafting, and people should be cleaning the dojo... So no one should be at the forge? People mostly use it during morning."

"Should we still use the forge? I thought that was where they all came from?" He looks at the other two.

"Well, the entrance to the city got nearly sealed." Kenji answered. "Also the forge got used every day, anyway. So it should be okay"
