A loud crash and an intense bright white flash fill the barracks with light, followed by a wave of heat and an ear-splitting boom, the wooden structure shaking violently.
Something is in the center of a small crater from the lightning strike...but what is it?
Participants: Up to 4 characters, limited to those who did not participate in Blood Money
This event will interrupt your sleep, preventing void recovery, spell slot regeneration, and you will be fatigued on D4, taking +1 to all of your TNs.

Umeno was a heavy sleeper normally... but she had made certain she could wake up easily that night in case the gaki returned, even if she'd not heard anything about it the night before.
Even her normal sleep would have been woken up by the thunder though. She was used to normal thunder, but the flash and crash of it right outside probably woke everyone. Most would fall back asleep, and perhaps she should have as well, but really, would she be so poorly off if she was tired in the morning? At least this provided some sort of change. She made her way outside to see what was left from the strike.

The young Yasuki leaped to his feet at the lightning strike. But it was dark now and something really, really loud had just happened.
But what?
*yawwwwn*
But what?
Dimly, there was form walking outside, so he followed, fighting back additional yawns.

Aiichiro ironically was not awoken up by the storm. He woke up by the movement and noise Ginkarasu made when waking up. Jumping your feet next to three other people rarely left one of them undisturbed. He looked at him quite annoyed as he was leaving.
"Ginkarasu-san?"

Kaidan woke up at the sound of thunder. "What in Jigoku?"

As the students come out into the storm, standing in the crater is a Tengu, and at his feet is a chest.
"We have been watching"

He looked at the... Bird? And it was like a person and talking and... Oh. This was a spirit, wasn't it?
He tried to identify what it was. But easier than that was asking.
"We who?"

Otoko had remembered her umbrella, but all the same, the hem of her yukata slowly got wet from the water that splashed up from her geta. She gave a slow, careful bow to the kenku, but said nothing. The Kaiu had already spoken her first question, and better him than her.

Kaidan used his brimmed hat as an umbrella. There he was the Bird person dude. "Watching us? From where?"

Ginkarasu bows a bit to the strange crater creature.
"Hello! I'm Yasuki Ginkarasu! Did you" yaaawwwwn "want some mochi? Or to watch from inside? It's wet out here you know."

The Tengu smirks at Ginkarasu but shakes his head. At the other questions he simply says:
"We, and from above."
He motions to the chest.
"A test. A game of riddles, and what is in the chest will be yours."
He bows to everyone politely.
"Who will begin?"

"Are you going to answer our riddles and if you can't we get the chest? Or are we answering your riddles and if we can't we get the chest?"
He pauses a moment.
"Wait, the last one doesn't make sense. Sorry, it's really early. If we do answer the riddles, we get the chest?"
He yawns again, then looks to the others, "Or do we ask riddles and you ask riddles and we both need to answer?"

"I'm good at riddles regardless. At least I think so. People say I'm smart." He says, answering Ginkarasu.

"I will ask you, and if you succeed, you will ask me. We will play the game until all four of you have asked and answered."

"Oh okay! Please don't make me go first, I need to think of a riddle." He responds, nodding to Aiichiro in agreement with him being smart.

"I can agree with this. You, start." Aiichiro says. He was not that confident on his ability to make riddles on the spot, it wasn't a common passtime for it, but he couldn't be bad at it!

"Let us begin then."
The first riddle:
"Washing makes it more and more dirty; it is cleaner without washing."
Event Rules:
Each character will need to answer a riddle using Games: Riddles / Intelligence at TN6. If they fail the riddle, the Tengu gets one point, and the same riddle is asked to the next character. Once the riddle is successfully answered, the players get one point, and the player who answered gets to ask a riddle of their own.
To ask a riddle, they may either use Games: Riddles / Intelligence, or Courtier (Manipulation) / Awareness at TN 6. On a success, the players get one point, plus an additional point per raise. On a failure, the Tengu gets one point.

He thought on what it could be. "The water. Since you use it to clean other things, it gets more dirty the more you wash things on it."
