The New Winds

Training done. Everybody soaked wet. Kokyou looks to the mud puddles and jumps with both feet nearby another student.

Mai gives him her, 'What did you just do?' looks..... and then promptly jumped next to him, splash the mud back, laughing.

Kokyou laughs, and splashes harder both feet that even himself gets muddier. He curses, "Back stabbin' snake faced weedy little mud bucket. I shall 'ave doused the strength on this one."

Mai kicks some mud towards the other Mantis. "Who jumped and got who muddy first?" It's been a few days since she got to talk to Kokyou. It was nice even if it was a bit dirty.

"We shall hang out more together." He says. "Gotta swab our dirty laundry within the family."

The boy chuckles.

Mai nods and gives mischievous smile. "So, I heard you want to be shugenja."

"Am I nah a shugenja already?" He asks, smirking. "I did summon the earth 'n water kami o'er ye."

Mai laughs. "Fair point. Should I expect you spellcasting training tomorrow?"

"Aye! Ye should. I jus' needs t' fit ye into me agenda. I be mighty busy, as ye know." He nods.

Main nods. "I look forward to seeing you summon the Earth and Water kami tomorrow. I am sure Asako-sensei will be suitably impressed."

"Ya-har. She's definitely impressed wit' me. Asako-sensei gives me the kami's blessin' every other day. I imagine she misses me much, but can nah be all the time around. 'twould be improper. She's a sensei, aft all."

"Oh?" Mai's eyebrow rises. "I would have though that you would consider it more of a challenge. Kokyou-kun, you are maturing." With that she stomps, splashing more mud on the other Mantis.

"I know. I know. I am sure ye 'ave noticed how strong 'n manly I am gettin'. Ye 'ave t' restrain yourself, though. 'twould be too scandalous 'n all the other poppets would get too jealous, Mai-chan."

Mod gives a serious nods. "Of course, you need spread out the scandals slowly. You have a long life and many scandals ahead of you."

"'tis difficult t' contain such greatness, I confess. But everythin' on its due time."

"Truly. I await your great endeavors with eagerness. I will say to my companions. 'I knew Kokyou back when we were young. Back before he became a hero in half of the pillow books written, and the villain in the other half.' " Mai chuckled. "You better not let me down."

He gives her a good wink with his left eye. The one closer to the heart.
