Scorpion in water

[Bayushi Jiro]

Jiro reacted quickly, surging through the water to get the frog off his kinsman. Aren't we their natural enemies? was the only thing in his mind as he launched himself at the beast.

Give Jiro a sword, and he could be dangerous. With his hands, he was...well, dangerous in an entirely different way. Mostly to himself.

Unfortunatly, the attempt at catching the frog misses, slapping Kaiden on the chest instead.

The little tree frog hops away from the strike...right onto Kaiden's nose.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" He flailed to get the frog away from his nose. "I don't think this is a normal frog... GET...OFF!"

[Bayushi Jiro]

Jiro took a flailing hand to the face and recoiled a bit to try to get a better idea of the situation. "Kaidan-san, remain still!" he said with all the authority he could muster. Perhaps if Kaidan were still, he could pick the frog off of his face.

At the loud shout, the frog jumps off of Kaiden and lands in the water, beginning to swim.

[Bayushi Kaidan]

He took a deep breath and calmed himself down. "My apologies Jiro san." He kept eyeing the amphibian. "It was unbecoming."

[Bayushi Jiro]

Jiro shook his head and moved just a bit further back in the water, his expression reforming to one of tranquility. "It is no matter, cousin. I am sure that I shan't remember it."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan nodded. "So... I wonder what this dojo wants us to achieve in such short time."

[Bayushi Jiro]

"If I understand correctly, they wish to provide enough days of education to be able plausibly to say that we are different from students receiving the regular course of training from our dojos back home."

Bayushi Jiro ducked his head underwater to begin to clean his hair. Frog scum drying in it would be just awful.

"That way, when one of us wins the Topaz Championship, the Ruby Champion can say that the clans' dojos are deficient."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Should we sabotage the topaz championship? " Kaidan took some of the water to clean his nose.

[Bayushi Jiro]

"...I am not sure." Jiro tilted his head back. "I am having difficulty imagining a scenario where that could be done efficiently."

Jiro frowned. "I had rather thought that we might..."

A pause.

"I don't suppose the Ruby Champion may have committed something about her plans to paper? Perhaps if our parents were aware of some evidence of her plans, or perhaps other issues that she may have, then she might be discouraged from pursuing her strategy."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan smiled. "Perhaps it all part of the plan. Maybe..." The young Bauyshi started thinking. "This might be a crazy idea but we should find out more information about our sensei... perhaps we can find their flaws." He lowered into the water, still a bit on edge. "Find the connection to the Ruby champion and why she chose them."

[Bayushi Jiro]

"Interesting." Jiro nodded slowly. "Though of course any direct inquiry will lead to an answer regarding their skill and abilities. We shall have to demonstrate that the Scorpion dojo are preparing us for the Duty of the Left Hand exceptionally well."

A pause. "I wonder how well Agasha-sama's rooms are guarded...and when she is away from them."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan smiled. "I can try check things out. It would be like playing hide and seek." He remembered playing with his brother back in Kyuden Bayushi. "It might be tricky though... guards might be out on the look out for that thing that has been lurking around. Did you see the holes on the shoji screens?"

[Bayushi Jiro]

"I heard the screaming last night." Jiro frowned. "I thought it was some juvenile, not...a thing."

He sighed. "That is certainly a complication. We will have to figure out how the guards are deployed. Maybe we can take advantage of all of the private instruction that is going on to maneuver."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Maybe... Shosuro sensei seems extravagant but I think might be able to help." He wondered "What sensei took you under it's wing?"

[Bayushi Jiro]

"Kitsuki-sensei. She was rather focused on the lesson, and did not give much away as to her personality under the teaching role."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan placed a hand on his chin as of thinking. "We might need them to lower their guard. If we let them show a bit of their face and find what is under the mask. I will try to wake up early and do some surveillance."
