Studying in the Library

[Kokyou]

Kokyou presses his lips thin. He doesn't know it, but also doesn't want to show he doesn't know it. He says, "We may or we may nah. But that could be a Clan secret I be nah supposed t' say. I apologize."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He looked at them. "Anyway, when the lookouts get back, we call this secondary army back and let them meet the wall. The fight is continued with ranged attacks from the bows, engines and shugenja who are stationed above the wall." And continued to search for a book.

[Mai]

Mai listens intently. "I think our tactics are a bit different. Well, mostly because at sea, we prefer to attack than defend. There's no walls or fortifications to use."

[Kokyou]

"Aye. We attack!" Kokyou suddenly lifts himself up, pointing his finger forward in his combat stance. Then, he chuckles a bit.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Yeah, let me search something specific for naval fighting then... Not a lot of use for strategies of the wall on the seas." He says, scanning the shelves.

[Mai]

"No. No. The wall talk was great. It will probably more useful than naval battles for the exams even if it doesn't mesh well with our experiences." Mai gives a grateful nod. "We're learning a lot , Kaiu-san."

[Kokyou]

“Aye!” Kokyou replies, sitting back into listening mode.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"You would need first an understanding of naval battles before trying to discover something new by thinking of the wall battles. Please let me search for something. It may not help on the exams, but will be more helpful on life."

[Mai]

Mai was a little confused. "But couldn't we just start from the beginning of land tactics." She sighs. "I, at least, no little of naval battles on a large scale. So, it would be new to me too."

[Kokyou]

"Wha' does th' book say about those tricky ambushes many snivelin' enemies prepare. How t' avoid those in a war scenario?" Kokyou asks.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Hmmmmmm. Yes, that would make sense." He said, stopping searching for books. "I'm sorry. Leadership said something about ambushes, I am sure."

[Mai]

Mai hands Aiichiro her copy which was on a section about flanking maneuvers.

[Kokyou]

Kokyou gets some scrolls himself and starts to open them in his own organized fashion. Which would be rather disorganized to some others.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

He took the book. "This is on the offensive tactics... The defensive ones are in the second part of the book. Although studying how people make ambushes is great for defending against them, too." He gave it back.

[Mai]

Mai silently cursed herself. More than one book? Outrageous! Nothing should take more than one book!

[Kokyou]

"Exactly me point. We should know how t' do it, t' avoid it. Jus' in case." Kokyou nods.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Anyway, what I seek is not exactly here. It is a book in the... etiquette... of imperial courts. Anyone saw it?"
