Hazrat bows to Tōya as they enter the dojo, then sets about to prepare himself, physically, mentally, and spiritually. He does some stretching exercises, meditates briefly, and chants a mantra to ask for luck in the coming contest. "Zhuanlun, Lord of Changes, smile upon me and grant me Good Fortune."

(It says the wrong day and time because I copy-pasted the description and then forgot to correct it. I'll re-roll with a corrected label if you wish, but I just didn't want it to look like I was needlessly roll-farming.)

Hazrat picks a wooden sword. While it is not a scimitar, the size and weight is similar enough that he is able to adjust. He then settles into the water stance, focusing on being flexible and adaptive.

RING: Water
Strength: 3

Starting his demonstration, Hazrat decides to give it an additional flourish. It is as much a warm-up for the actual bout as a performance of skill, after all. At first, he is unsure about his abilities, but as he recites the mantra of luck he is able to relax and move more confidently.

He then waits until after Tōya has also completed the demonstration. As they take their places, Hazrat bows, grips his sword, and clears his mind, ready to rush forward like a river and strike when the signal is given.

D4 Contested Roll 1: 34
Reversal of Fortunes Re-Roll: 39 *using this one*
Hazrat steps to the side and strikes Tōya as he advances, catching sight of an opening. As the last bit of the spell's effect fades away, he manages to leverage the Shiba's momentum against him for even more of an advantage.

Damage Roll (keeping lowest) 3d10o10l1: 4 damage
He strikes a solid blow, but checks himself in order not to cause serious injury.

Then, he turns as quickly as he can in an attempt to land another strike.

The Shiba tries to do some footwork to gain an opening, but Hazrat proves to be too nimble for the slower Shiba.

THe SHiba is caught off guard, and even calling on his internal strength to help overcome Hazratz advance wasn't enough.

Damage Roll (keeping lowest) 3d10o10l1: 1 damage
Hazrat stopped his swing as soon as the practice blade made contact with Tōya. It had been a good fight, even if it had ended quickly, and he looked around for a healer who could help the Phoenix with his bruises.
