"Hai! Otomo-sama." Kokyou nods obediently to the superior Imperial with much respect. Then, with a smile, he keeps on munching at the food. That surely made his morning, having a nice breakfast with two very different, but extremely charming maidens. Inhaling deeply, he understands that's probably what he wants for his life –– not necessarily what he needs ––, but he can't just find the proper word to describe it...

It was a gaijin word, for sure. He narrows one eye, thinking to himself.

[Otomo Nobuko]

Nobuko continued eating in the silence that followed, finishing off her bowl and then glancing outside at the position of the sun through the window. She frowned to herself, the time she'd allotted mentally nearly up.

"Kokyou-san," she began, shifting her eyes to him and pausing as she realized he looked like he was either thinking very, very hard or, "Do you... would you perhaps need to..."

How does one politely ask if someone needs to use the chamberpot when sitting at a public meal?

She waved a hand in a gesture indicating 'need to leave', "...take a break from our company for a moment?"

Not really sure why she wanted him to leave at a first glance, but noticing she finished before he did, the young man shoves the rest of the food down by taking the bowl up and scraping it with the hashi.

"My apologies for the delay." He says afterward, with another nod, while placing down bowl and chopsticks at the table once more. "I'll depart as Otomo-sama instructs. No need to take more of her time."

She didn't stop him, but she was surprised at the sudden speed in which he ate and then ran out of there. He must have had to go really badly.

Leaving her alone with Erina for much longer than expected. When she realized he either was not coming back, or could not come back (oh my, what did he get into the night before?), she gave Erina permission to leave and hurry off, and then left herself. The teapot she carried carefully tucked in her arms.
