(Crane Clan Lands) - Night Before

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

A grunt. "Yeah. And I certainly appreciate what they do. Not sure how long I'd last on the front line during a surge." He frowns. He hadn't been trained for it, after all.

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"My sensei told me something similar. I'm not going to be, like, a smith or engine surveillor, so I should know well how to make a stand at close combat. Which is one of the whys I need a lot of training."
He swung his legs with a strong deal of speed.
"Sometimes I think I'm on the wrong specialization."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

"They going to risk your smarts? I mean, you're able to do it, but that seems risky." He shakes his head. "All the things you might make for the Empire."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"This is the same I thought. But I am to be a battlemaster." He points to his personal mon. "Always have been groomed for that. It's not like I have a choice."
He looks to the side. "Technically I have a choice. But would never."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

A nod. "Yeah. Battlemaster's are really important too. Keeps the war possible."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"If I could... Or wanted to, I probably would want to be something other than a battlemaster though."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

A brief shrug. "Yeah?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Like... I don't know actually. I'm good at knowing things about the Shadowlands, battle knowledge and... Yes, I should just stay battlemastering." He says quite defeated.

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

"Then be the best." He looks down to his food. "Be important."

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"It is what I pursuit." He takes a large sip from his teacup.

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

A brief nod. He eats some.

Then.

"Gotta be tough, being the best at something. What's the best Battlemaster do?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

"Oh no, I don't seek to be the best battlemaster. Just a good one. Disputing against Kisada-sama over something is fierce."

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Noodle slurping noises.

Then.

"I bet! But imagine how much you'd learn, sharpening yourself against his wisdom?"

[Kaiu Aiichiro]

All all flustered — he imagined what it would be to work alongside The Great Bear.

"Yes, a lot... Anyway, I will stop talking to let you eat now."
