"Do you have any more questions, or do you believe you have the basics of it all now?"

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"What if a Kami was to be reborn? Could the Kami challenge the emperor because he or she are displeased by the way things are and they tarnish the name of his or her brother?" Kaidan wondered.

[Bayushi Jiro]

Jiro looked out of the side of his eye at Kaidan. Still waters run deep, Kaidan-san...

The sensei thinks for a few minutes.

"Well, I think that would be a situation that someone could issue such a challenge, yes"

[Bayushi Jiro]

"Interesting, kohai-san. Perhaps we can take some comfort that no reincarnation--or no one claiming to be a reincarnation--has chosen to do so yet."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

Kaidan nodded. "Can a Kami use a champion even if they were the ones to issue the challenge? " he followed up his question. He is a curious kid and wonders how high status people would work things out.

[Vutall]

"I suppose that would depend on if they carry a Katana. Only those who do not may use a Champion."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"How would this be sanctioned? Would there be a magistrate to judge?" He wondered. "How laws apply to unsanctioned duels?"

[Vutall]

"Any duel that does not have a Magistrate of some sort present is unlawful."

[Bayushi Jiro]

But a magistrate need only be persuaded to testify that they were there after the fact. Jiro smiled privately. And all of a sudden your "duel" was legal. "A useful provision, Kitsuki-sensei."

[Bayushi Kaidan]

"Ah for a duel to be lawful should be then sanctioned one needs a magistrate. Should it also need ones lord approval?" Kaidan kept up questioning
