Looking for the Familiar

Ginkarasu wandered around with a broom. Sometimes he'd get down real low to inspect the floor to see if it needed to be swept, but mostly he was trying to find something familiar to him. He was a lucky Crab, he knew the Yasuki palace so it wasn't all alien to him, but it was still so many people from so many different clans.

"Quite the break from what you are used to, eh Yasuki-san?"

A small and lithe looking man in crab colors calls out to Ginkarasu from the side of the dojo where he watches the students.

He looks around at the familiar sounding voice. Seeing a Crab sensei was a whole mixture of emotions.

"Oh! Hiruma-sensei! Yes! Not as much as Otosan Uchi's gardens or anything, but still very different. They must spend so much time cleaning everything here." He bows. He knows how to bow to a Crab sensei. That he was confident in.

When he straightens he tries to adjust his holding the broom to where it's comfortable. It takes a couple attempts and ends up being rested on his shoulder like it was a heavy-headed spear.

"I am glad to see a few from our clan made it here. I was worried we would be forgotten about."

He nods. "Yes. Me, Kaiu Aiichiro and Kuni Yotsuo. Everyone's been really nice. A Kakita even traded for some mochi!"

He looks down to the ground a second. "I know it's really forward and you might not be able to tell me, but," he looks up to the Crab sensei. "I didn't let the Crab down did I? I did well in everything my dojo taught me before. But they wanted us to do so many things and the other students are all so talented! That Fox Clan student didn't falter on anything they were asked to do!"

"No, you did well. Agasha-sama is just strict on what she would reward. The fact that you did well on so many things she was looking for is a credit to our school."

He nods a little sheepishly. "Oh. Okay. Strict? Hm."

He tries a different question so he could focus on something else. "Oh! I was curious! I heard that we're going to get tested to see how athletic we are and the Kakita-sensei is teaching it! What are you teaching?"

"I'll be on the Magistrate day, teaching hunting skills"

"Oh! That will be exciting! My sensei I had before this dojo said we should learn how to read the land so we know where people are likely to ambush us or where a bear might be sleeping so we don't walk into its lair. That kind of stuff?" He asks, spirits rebounding now that he can talk about something else and a sensei said he'd done well.

"Something like that, Yasuki-san. I can't reveal too much, or it would be unfair to others."

A nod. "Yes! Of course, Hiruma-sensei. I wouldn't want to be unfair."

He does look around the courtyard though for a second. "Can I ask a different question? Not about training."

"Of course, that is why we are all here, after all."

He smiles in thanks. "Which of the sensei do you think most likes mochi?" He'd ask slyly, but he doesn't know how.

The Hiruma cocks his head sideways a little.

"Honestly, Yasuki-san, I have no idea. I would think most everyone could appreciate it though."

He nods, thinking. He didn't have enough for everyone. "Which ones do you think would buy some and would pay lots? I want to bring a bag of coins back and make sure they go to helping at the Wall."

The Hiruma raises a finger and waggles it.

"I wouldn't suggest just blindly going up to the different sensei and trying to sell them something. After all, commerce is not looked kindly upon by most.."

He nods. "Good point. I'm glad I asked you first. I had this dream of getting the Ruby Champion to buy some, but I don't want to interrupt her while she's teaching, there's so many of us, it'd be rude."

"You can sell to the other students, but for any of the sensei, my recommendation would be to gift them some."

A small frown, "Oh. Okay."
