Cleaning with the Unclean

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko shook her head slowly. "...My family normally is, attending the Preserver school, but I still have not heard their voices. My attunement is to the earth kami... just as the Iuchi teach. It was why I was sent to train with them."

[Utaku Nesrin]

"Still passingly funny." Nesrin nods decisively. "And the earth is really important. Wind in your hair is great, but you need a grounded stance to do anything very effectively."

She tilts her head to one side. "Still...If you *want* to hear them, it can't hurt to court them a bit, right? Climb to the rooftops and meet them where they're freest and such. My mom always had bright flags strung from the edges of our yurt because she said they'd keep the winds happy." With a 'but what do I know about this stuff, anyway?' shrug she steps back to look over the racks of practice weapons all in their places.

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko had gotten her own rack somewhat orderly and clean at least. She glanced over at Nesrin, head tilting. "...How do you stand on the roof of a yurt?"

[Utaku Nesrin]

"Oh...well, you don't often. You can. They're very sturdy. But I was thinking of the roofs here, since we're all here to learn, it would definitely fall under learning if you were trying to get closer to the kami that way."

[Yogo Otoko]

"... I will... think on it. I am not very good at climbing however. Perhaps I will make due with the ground and a fan?" Her head tilted, voice passively thoughtful.

[Utaku Nesrin]

Nesrin nods, and mimes waving some fans in a semblance of dance. "Fans do kind of play with the air, so that seems like sense." She plants both feet together to look up at Otoko, "but if you ever want help learning to climb, I can show you."

She was going to be very embarrassed to have offered this when she flubbed tomorrow's climb of a very easy wall.

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko looked back down at Nesrin before slowly nodding. "...I am, after all, here to learn. Merely let me know if you ever wish to."

[Utaku Nesrin]

"Definitely!" Nesrin holds up one hand, little finger extended. "Pinky swear?"

[Yogo Otoko]

Despite Otoko's seeming ease at the earlier hand shake, she just started at Nesrin's extended pinky a moment. Finally, slowly, she reached out and linked pinkies, her own smooch and a touch cool.

"...A promise with a Yogo... a dangerous thing Utaku-san. I pray it will not be so now." Her tone had that same even timber. Her head tilted slightly.

[Utaku Nesrin]

"Oh? I mean it's a pretty small promise." Nesrin's callused pinky squeezes Otoko's with a small shake to seal the intention. "And I have my lucky stone with me..." Her head tilts. "Waaait...that's another joke, isn't it?"

[Yogo Otoko]

Otoko shrugged softly. "...One can only hope so."

[Utaku Nesrin]

With a cheerful chuckle, Nesrin pats the weapons rack. "Until tomorrow's mess needs cleaning up again, then," she bids farewell to the rack, and then to Otoko. "Fortunes favor ahead of you, Yogo-san," before heading out to the next set of tasks in the long day of a student.
