The New Winds

Haruki knows better than anyone that the farther away from a city, the less likely you are to really need to know how to do an Iaijutsu duel. But this is not some far off land, dessert or mountain. This is the Topaz Championship, the winner today will become an Emerald Magistrate, a member of the buke class, and more importantly to most, a jeweled champion: a category that is shared with only 2 offices at the moment, the Ruby Champion who presides over this whole event with Toshimoko-sama and the empty office of the Emerald Champion, the Emperor's yojimbo. The stakes are too high, even showing a hint of disrespect here will bring nothing but shame to everyone you care about. So Haruki makes sure to do his best to follow every bit of etiquette he knows (OOC I as a player don't know this). Then he readies his blade in its sheathe.

Batbayar takes a blade off the rack with a bit of a frown and steps into the dueling ring, offering a bow.

"May your blade strike true, Isawa-san"

Haruki gives a quick "good luck" as a reflex as he's deeply observing her posture, ease with the blade, etc. Outside thoughts don't matter right now, all that matters is the blade on his side and the opponent 3 feet in front of him.

Haruki bows in return, first to his opponent, then to Toshimoko-sama, and finally to the rising sun. Perfectly silent during this whole process, he then leaves the ring silent until he walks out of the ring and into the spectators area.
