Kemari really didn't have an opponent. So, Kokyou just takes the soft ball in hand, places it down, and then waits for someone to play along with him.

"Kokyou-san, good to see you've kept at it. Would you mind if I joined you in Kemari?"

Kokyou grins, provides a bow, and tosses the ball so Haruki can begin, saying, "O' course, me heartie."

Haruki starts simple, just ensuring the ball stays in play while getting the tempo started.

Kokyou, not as sharp as the knives he carries, starts to dance around before he kicks the ball up again, putting up a show that perhaps wasn't what the sensei had in mind. He asks Haruki, after passing the ball, "Who fancies ye in town?"
