(D5 EA Shogi) Moto Ichiro vs. Akodo Eichiro

[Moto Ichiro]

The big Moto sat behind a Shogi board and waited for someone to join him for a game. He was no master but he knew the basics.

[Ikoma Eichiro]

Eichiro awakens from his 'meditation' to find that everyone has left for lunch. His left eye seems to burn a little from his sleep, so he remains in the dojo until the next event. The burning in his eye doesn't seem to go away, he rubs at it but it doesn't relieve the pressure.

He goes to the 'Games' matches, and finds a table across from Moto Ichiro. "Good afternoon, Moto-san," he says.

Moto Ichiro can see that the cornea of Eichiro's right eye has gone from it's coppery brown to a dark fiery red. His left eye remains it's normal dark brown. Eichiro seems unaffected by it, aside from rubbing it with his wrist every so often.

"Shall we play?" Eichiro asks.

Ichiro nods and looks to the game board his opening move is rather basic and actually quiet weak

Eichiro studies the play for a moment, "Hmm, ok we can work with this. Please do not take offence Moto-san, but our skill levels appear to be quite disparate. I want for both of us to be able to show our skill for Ikoma-sensei, and I also want it to be entertaining for you."

He removes two pieces from his side of the board, a rook and the left lance before his first move. His eye seems to burn brighter and there is a distant booming sound like fireworks.

Ichiro shrugged he was no master Shogi player "If you believe it to be best Ikoma-san. I am simply here as it is part of the tournament.

His next move was slightly better but still clearly amateur when viewed by an experienced eye.

"Do you think you'll play it again, or did you learn just for the tournament?" Eichiro asks, making his play.

"I learned at my training at the Dojo run by the Ruby Champion. I tend not to have much time for games with my training for this tournament. I focused on my strengths, athleticism, wrestling, horsemanship and a little Iaijutsu."

he spoke as he continued to play, he seemed to be getting a grasp of his opponent's strategy and making some ok moves accordingly.
