[Ikoma Eichiro]

Eichiro, still covered in slowly drying mud, arrives at the horseback riding course in time for his match. He bows to his opponent, and remembering that one time he rode a horse during his fifth summer, mounts up successfully.

Slowly, carefully, he rides to the first marker. He reaches out and grabs the flag, keeping a hold on the very patient horse. He then rides carefully to the ring course.

And fails it, six times in a row. He focuses on not falling off the horse more than lancing the ring. Having shown at least the proper amount of attempts at the challenge, he hurries back to the starting line to get off this horse and before he realizes it, he is back.

Mirumoto Hinata attempts to get on her horse and it clearly is not having anything to do with her. As she tries to bring the mount under control, it begins to buck wildly. She is tossed off, but before she can even stand up, the horse tramples her.

[Ikoma Eichiro]

Eichiro, having daydreamed his glorious victory after getting on to the horse and started riding, is rudely awoken by the scream of a panicked horse and the rider that was upon it.

In that moment, the tournament does not matter any longer. He gets off his horse and lets it wander, and he moves immediately to his fallen competitor and her horse. The horse has thankfully moved elsewhere and continues to buck and kick but is far enough away for it to be safe to approach.

"Akodo's wrath!" Eichiro exclaims and then bellows out, "We need a healer, NOW."

He knows little of medicine however, but has seen others treated. He kneels next to the dragon, hesitant to touch anything. All he has right now is words, "They are coming, Mirumoto-san. It doesn't look too bad." These words come from a filthy young man caked in dried mud, but the words ring as clearly as he can make them.

[Bayushi Jiro]

Bayushi Jiro rushes out onto the pitch. He is without medicines, but he can attempt to do his best to make her comfortable until the shugenja arrive. He helps her to turn over, and begins checking to see if there are any obvious broken bones...or worse, a serious concussion.

At Eichiro's approach, Hinata's horse runs off, sending a few servants chasing after it. Utaku Oishi also comes out onto the field to examine the downed Dragon.

"You have a good heart, Ikoma-san. Few would have stopped their test to aid another."

She says with a smile to the Ikoma and then kneels down and looks over Hinata.

"Shhh, keep calm now, help will be on the way"

The Dragon, for her part does not say a word, but stays huddles on the ground, her hands covering her head.

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

Ginkarasu runs out on the field as well.

"Oh no! Mirumoto-san! Would you like help? It's Yasuki Ginkarasu! And Utaku Oishi-sensei is here and Bayushi Jiro! I've had to walk with broken bones before, I could help you know how to move!"

Oichi gestures a "Slow down, be calm" gesture and looks to Jiro.

"You know medicine? Can you help her while we wait for one of the Shugenja to get here?"

[Yasuki Ginkarasu]

He does his best to be calm, concerned for the kind soon to be samurai he'd met yesterday.

[Bayushi Jiro]

"Of course, Utaku-sensei." Jiro nodded. "It looks rather serious, but not life-threatening."

He turned to the Dragon. "Remain still, Mirumoto-san, and all will be well shortly. By the way, do you know what day it is? Where you are? Which Hantei is Emperor?"

The only thing that Eichiro can do is stay out of the way and look for the shugenja. This one might require the rest of the bottle he had saved away, as thanks.

As Jiro begins his treatment, Hinata uncurls herself gingerly and gives a feeble smile to Eichiro.

"Thank you"

Is all she says before closing her eyes and grimacing in pain.

After a few more moments, one of the healers arrives and begins a prayer to the Water Kami, placing both hands on the injured woman.

As the water kami flow into the woman, the pain leaves her features, but her eyes stay closed.

"She will need rest before she can continue on today, Utaku-san"

The healer says to Oichi. The Battle Maiden nods.

"Bayushi-san, please help the priest carry Mirumoto-san to a place of rest so she can recover before this afternoons tests."

She then looks to Eichiro.

"It was a good thing you did today, Ikoma-san. You pass this trial."

[Ikoma Eichiro]

Eichiro has no words, so he merely bows to his opponent until she has left the field.

[Iuchi Prashant]

Prash is quick to run to the field, and he is about to get near the wounded girl when he sees a healer getting down to care for her.

Relieved, he sighs, bows to those around, saying soeme words of appreciation to Jiro and the Healer for their quick response, and looks around to double check that the horse has calmed down.

The horse is still loose, the servants having trouble getting it under their control.

Seeing the horse still loose, Prash assesses the situation, seeing if there's anything he could do to help.

Ginkarasu looks pensively as Hinata leaves, sad that he couldn't help. But with one last apple, heads off to lure the horse back to the stall with the possibility of a delicious treat.

Jiro does as requested without complaint or fanfare.

[Iuchi Prashant]

The Iuchi closes his eyes and clasps his hands as he often did before the events, this time focusing on balancing his inner Air.

Then, following Ginkarasu, he bows to the Crab and asks permission to offer the wayward horse the apple as an incentive to approach him. As the horse gets near the shugenja, still wary, the Iuchi extends one hand with the treat while slowly using the other one to touch the animal's mane. After a quick moment of hesitation, the animal accepts the treat, and doesn't complain as Prash runs his hand down its mane, caressing the beast's neck, reaches towards the rein, and speaks to the animal soothingly, which seems to work quite well.

With the situation under control, the Iuchi stays a bit longer with the animal, now smiling as he runs his hand up and down its mane and back, then looks at Utaku sensei to see if she has any particular orders as to where to take it. If not, he'll head outside the courae and see that the horse is safely taken back and placed securely in its stall.
