Dao was happy to see his old friend Prashant again, even if the circumstances were less than ideal.

The Lion tattoo etched on his left shoulder and down his bicep blazed as he stepped into the ring.

"Iuchi-san, it is an honour to face you today. May tge Fortunes shine upon us both."

Prash was also pleased to see his monk friend, even if it was in a match. He took some time to concentrate, closing his eyes and clasping his hands in the shape of the yin Yang sign before coming into the ring, and when he made the traditional bow before the match, it was with a warm smile on his lips.

"May the Fortunes guide our hands, and the Wisdom of Shinsei guide our minds. Ganbatte, Togashi-san!"

((Choosing Earth, Str 4 after activating Kiho))
Day 1 EA - Init for Sumai Vs Togashi Dao: 4d10o10k3 24

His reaction time is slower than his friend's, but his kiai shout at the start of the match is surprisingly loud. Dao's shout was also quite loud, but not enough to shake the resolution clear in the Iuchi's eyes.

Day 1 EA - Using Earth - Intimidation/ Will unskilled Vs Dao's roll of 21: 4d10k4 31

Day 1 EA - Raw Will + honour Vs Dao's roll of 27: 4d10k4+4 28

Dao's eyes widened at the Iuchi's kiai. If you'd asked him five minutes ago, he'd have sworn that he couldn't be shaken by such a thing, and while it was only a momentary pause, it was enough to give Prashant an unspoken edge in their contest.

"Before the eyes of heaven, show me your style!" He exclaimed as he charged in, giving his opponent a large opening to make some headway in their confrontation.

As he hears the monk's words and sees the opening he creates in his advance, a smile of understanding creeps in the right corner of his lips. The Iuchi nods, adjusts his footing a bit, and makes his way forward with a strong, firm and stylish grip, that pushes the Dragon back a fair bit. This would be a fun fight.

After pushing his friend back, Dao feels the Unicorn's grip loosening a bit, only slightly bruising him a bit. The Iuchi then smiles at the boy and exclaims to him "Now show me your best moves, Togashi-san!" as he lightens his grip a bit and takes a half step behind, creating himself an opening to see his friend's best move.

Relieved that his opponent had caught on so quickly, Dao accepted the slight injury with good humor and feeling the release of tension from the Iuchi's hold, he launched his counter attack.

He pivoted swiftly and transitioned smoothly into a collar and elbow lockup. it was a rudimentary move, but expertly implemented and showed Dao's strong grasp of the basics as he marched his opponent towards the edge of the ring.

"But how will you break out of this hold, Unicorn?" He exclaimed to the Heavens, before he too allowed his grip to relax almost imperceptibly.

Hida Goroharu watches the match and frowns.

"Come now, that is enough playing pretend. Show us your true ability!"

Before the Unicorn even hears the Sensei, he takes the chance opened by Dao, using his opponent's arm and shifting his weight to throw him in front of him again, then push him forward again, placing his arm in a strong lock... that is then released a bit again.

Their odd play going on or not, he's clearly focused on the match.

Chastised by the burly Hida inspired Dao to redouble his efforts and he charged at Prashant almost extending himself into a dangerous position as he lashed the priest with open handed slaps, cutting off his avenues of escape as he forced him towards the edge of the ring.

His hands became a blur as he unleashed everything he had into the final assault pushing to try and secure a strong victory in this first event, the one he suspected would be his strongest.

As Dao came at him again, Prash's eyes took on the look of fierce determination some of the others had seen a few times, and he gave his best to deflect the monk's hands with his own, while keeping a strong, fixed stance on the ground, guided by the Hida's words at the start of the event.

He gave his best, trying to hold his place in the ring. And he could for some time...but the Togashi's assault was relentless, and after some time Prash stopped being able to see or predict where each push was coming from. He braced a bit further, but in the end his legs couldn't take the onslaught and started giving way and moving back, and in the end the Togashi manages to push one of his feet out of the ring.

As soon as the match is over, Prashant takes a few deep breaths, and his face is back to a warm, friendly smile. He bows first to Dao, lower than usual. "This was a very fun match, Togashi-san! Congratulations on your victory!", he says, happy at his friend's victory instead of frustrated as his own loss.

He then bows low and respectfully to the Hida, thanking him for being their referee with a smile before leaving the ring and sitting down for a while to talk to Dao and watch the other matches.

After all the matches, he sits down ti meditate, and the ruckus around doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Hida Goroharu looks to both of them once the match has ended and says quietly to them:

"I can see you were trying to allow each other to demonstrate your abilities. I would suggest not doing such thing here in Crane Lands. They will take great offense to you not taking this seriously. To not put your all into a fight, even for the sake of allowing your opponent to perform a good demonstration is considered most shameful here."

Dao bows his head at Goroharu's words.

"My apologies Hida-sensei," he replies in a very soft voice. "I thought it would be a bigger diservice should the judges not see our capabilities equally. How else can they gather the most information to appoint the most worthy Topaz Champion? The fault is mine for this misunderstanding, and I will accept any appropriate punishment."

He smiles and keeps his voice low.

"Better it happened with me than others. There's no need for punishment, Togashi-san"

Prash bows respectfully at the Sensei after his words as well, and speaks in a low voice after his exchange with the monk.

"Thank you kindly for your words and your direction, Hida-sensei. I agreed with Togashi-san's assessment that it would make sense to give our opponent chance to show and assess each other's full capabilities before pitting ourselves wholeheartedly against each other, so I cannot accept that he bear any fault for this alone. And I thank you kindly for your understanding as well." He bows low again to the Crab.
